Coming tonight: Can't Stop, Avernum 6, and Topia

Not the shrubbery-shearing simulator I thought it was at first. Not the shrubbery-shearing simulator I thought it was at first.

We've already talked at length about a couple of tonight's notable iOS releases. Abstract boardgame Can't Stop is due out tonight from the prolific kings of iOS strategy games, Playdek, along with sprawling old-school RPG Avernum 6 HD for iPad.

Besides those two, midnight will bring Topia, a world-builder from Cresent Moon Games and Glenn Corpes, a former Bullfrog developer whose CV includes PC classics like Theme Park, Magic Carpet, Syndicate Wars, and Populous. Topia looks a bit like a modern Populous, though it seems like a toy more than a game. The descriptions I've seen imply there's no goals or narrative, just freeform world-building. Sounds very zen.

Perhaps in a week or two we'll all be playing Phantom Leader - the BGG iOS guys got hold of a couple of new screenshots and DVG told them that they were submitting to Apple this week.

UPDATE: Christmas comes early. As Sven points out in the comments, Avernum 6 HD and Can't Stop are now available - still waiting on Topia, though.
