I did not know about that site--thanks, Nick : )

Great summary, Nick : ) I agree with Dave that some of the puzzle games look really appealing, and I hadn't heard of most of them. Random comments everyone should skip: --I think we are extremely, absurdly spoiled as gamers right now. Ten or even five years ago, if someone had told me about a game t...

Thanks, @Zot23--that's great advice. Facing so many quest rogue decks at this point has left me soured on the expansions, honestly, so it will be good to try fighting it with those ideas.

Great interview : ) I would agree that the style/tone of the game is what makes GoE so endearing and re-playable for me. And Colm is right--I'm not sure I ever noticed that there's no animations! Clearly it doesn't matter. It's interesting to read that to get traction on ios, it was helpful (necessa...

I'm on an ipad 4 with Faeria, and it's Crashy McCrashypants thus far. I will not be playing it until...well, until I can actually play it. But I look forward to it stabilizing.

Re: Hearthstone: Why We Must Fight Back Against Bad Brawls

For example, I had a Silence Priest deck last year that was fairly effective (it played well against the meta at the time and it was completely unexpected as it was a 100% self-created deck.) ... No one plays silence, I've never seen it in a deck outside of Arena and then only once. So now I'm curi...

Re:

...Hearthstone is so popular, with so many people playing, that when a new expansion is released, the meta is "solved" too quickly. This leads to long periods of the "stale" meta. I'm not sure what the solution would be. Do you have to perfectly balance each expansion before its...

Re:

We needed something to head off the jade freight train once it gets rolling. I'm not whining as a loser either, I play Jade Sham a lot these days. But once I get that sucker up to speed mid-game, unless you get super lucky or are another jade deck, I'm going to grind you into dust. One of those car...

Excellent use of the word "opprobrium", Matt. Your notable vocabulary aside, I also enjoyed the article and agree that the Brawls have been pretty annoying these last 2 weeks. Based upon what vague things we've heard so far about the next expansion, it does appear that deck-building and st...

Re: Review: Fire Emblem Heroes

Great review. Exactly how I felt about this game, as a longtime FE fan. Nothing here to make it worth the time, and it felt to me like a play for the "gotta orb them all" mentality.
