Hoplite is the roguelike gold standard in my book. I considered calling this article "Like Hoplite" but its probably not well-known enough for that, plus it's such a mammoth genre that it feels a bit odd to name a standard bearer that isn't just Rogue (which I also considered). Crowntakers...

Has anybody played Siralim 2? I almost included it here (it was tough to decide which games to keep and which to cut). It's had some recent updates and is currently on sale for $2.

I think it was wiser for Joe to get the review out now rather than wait a week because PT reviews do influence purchasing decisions. And most of us don't want to wait a week to decide about a new game.

Got it in one.

A 1-star, for me, equates to "do not purchase".

Most certainly.

I feel like one star being the lowest score, should be reserved for utter garbage and I don't think the game is utter garbage. It's a two star game for me which means its just not very good. A boring guessing game with some abstract clue cards to mess around with. I've never played the physical gam...

This seems overly harsh. While I agree that this is definitely a game best experienced irl, it's a pretty solid adaptation. I've had a few good multiplayer games and it seems to work well. I don't want to tell you you're job but... giving a 1 star review without playing a single multiplayer game an...

Incredibly fun deck builder. Two things you should know about Peter Whalen and Dream Quest: (1) The Graphics: His two daughters made them for him, and he included them so they could be involved. (Age 11 and 7 at the time I think?) He???s gotten hammered for them in numerous reviews, but not only ar...

I was interested in this game when I first heard about it -- until I got to the part in the description about "IAP boost". IAP that gives in-game advantage is a non-starter for me. Different people dislike different aspects of the freemium model. I rule out almost anything with an energy ...

Just discovered Subterfuge as well via a friend, and when his game ends I'm going to jump in a match of that with him too. And Joe was never heard from again... Also, to echo Halfvoid, the economy isn't optimized yet and the early game is a bit rough. The developers are smoothing that out for sure....

Hmmm...Is Age of Conquest asynch? That screenshot sure looks enticing to me. There are "Live" games and "Slow" games. You can set the turn limits for anything from 1 minute/turn to 7 days/turn. There's a ton of flexibility in the options for both multiplayer and single player ga...
