Review: Road Not Taken

Tue Aug 02, 2016 4:00 pm

It’s always nice to come across a game that doesn’t have the words ‘space’, ‘war’, ‘marine’ or some combination of the three in the title.

Nice review.

I'm on year 11 and I'm having a total blast.
Actually, I'm liking last levels a lot more than the first ones, the puzzles gets harder but you do know a lot more.
So far I left behind just one child, and it still hurts.

Do know tough that the iOS version is not that punishing.
The book entires, the trophies and all the acquired items persist after your death, and you do not start from scratch, just from last year.
After year 5 you can choose normal (like the above) or permadeath.

It's already one of my fav game of the year...it's like a blend between Nightmare Cooperative, Triple Town, Sokoban, a bit of Zelda and a bit of Year Walk.
Sound absurd but works really well.
And technically, it's really a wonder, the attention to detail is amazing and it plays like a charm on iPhone and iPad.

That sounds amazing : ) Between what you and Mark each have to say about it, this is 100% my next purchase.

Nice Metallica reference in the caption, Mark : ) And a great review, of course.
