PT Exclusive: First screenshots of Battle Academy Operation Husky

Shoulda taken the jeep.

You have to pay per axle on this ferry.

Slitherine might have begun tooling up for Battle Academy 2, but that doesn’t mean that they’re done with Battle Academy, the Pocket Tactics Readers’ Choice Game of the Year for 2012.

The venerable wargaming house have sent along word that they’re working on a new expansion for BA entitled Operation Husky, modeled after the Allied invasion of Sicily in 1943. If you’re like me and your favourite part of Battle Academy was the Italian tankers yelling “maledictione!“, this is good news.

In what I believe is a first for Slitherine, Operation Husky will be releasing for PC, Mac, and as an in-app purchase for the iPad edition simultaneously on 20 March. Slitherine says the expansion adds 9 new missions and 30 new units, including GMC half-tracks, Semovente SPGs, and Italian bersaglieri (maledictione!).

Two exclusive images of Operation Husky after the jump. Click to see them bigger – you’ve been around the Internet a while, I don’t need to tell you that.

The Hermann Goering division, maybe?

That’s a lot of Tigers.

Pretty ballsy to wear those red berets.
