Apex Legends Season 9 – release date, new character, and Titans

Here’s what to expect from Apex Legends Season 9

An explosion beneath a waterfall in Apex Legends

If you’ve been playing Apex Legends for a while, you’ll know that every season brings new excitement, including a new battle pass and perhaps even a new character to try out. As one of the best battle royale games, developer Respawn likes to keep things changing and updating to make sure the game always feels fresh and exciting.

Apex Legends Season 9 is closer than you might think, and while we don’t know exactly what it will bring, we can look at previous seasons to predict what’s coming. Respawn has also given us some hints and teasers, and we’ll also take into account datamines (although these should always be taken with a pinch of salt, as anything in the game’s code can change at any time).

However, developers have teased that Season 9 will be a good time to join the fray if you’re a fan of the Titanfall series. Apex Legends takes place in the Titanfall universe, of course, but rumours suggest that a Titan variant may be on the way into the battle royale.

Apex Legends Season 9 release date

Apex Legends Season 9 will release on May 4. This hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but Season 8 is set to end on May 3, and previous seasons have started immediately after the one before.

Apex Legends Season 9 battle pass

As always, Apex Legends Season 9 will have a battle pass with 100 levels to complete. There will likely be an additional reward if you reach level 110 as well. There will be an array of cosmetics, trackers, and voice quips to earn as you progress through the season, with leaks suggesting that the highest rewards will be legendary skins for the L-Star.

The premium battle pass usually costs 950 Apex Coins – the game’s premium currency. You can buy 1,000 Apex Coins for $9.99 (£9.99).

An Apex Legends map

Apex Legends Season 9 new character

Whichever of the Apex Legends characters you choose to main, a new season almost always brings a new option to choose from. Rumours are hinting that the Apex Games’ commissioner Kuben Blisk could join the fray soon, but that is not confirmed yet. Last season’s character added to Apex Legends, Fuse, is a lot of fun to use, but another new addition could shake things up even more.

New characters usually cost 12,000 Legend Tokens, or 750 Apex Coins, and we expect this trend to continue.

Apex Legends Season 9 new map

We’re not expecting a new map in Apex Legends Season 9, but we might see World’s Edge return to the map rotation. It may also return with some changes. While Mad Maggie has focused her wrath on Kings Canyon so far, permanently changing Apex Legends’ original play area, she may well turn her attention to World’s Edge this season.

We’ll keep this page updated with any more information we find about the new season, but for now there is still time to jump into Season 8 if you haven’t yet completed this season’s battle pass. While you wait, we’ve also got an Apex Legends tier list for your reading pleasure.
