Choice of Games strikes again with The Sea Eternal21 Apr 2016 0
I'm not sure what's going on at Choice of Games, but it's clear they have mermaids on the brain. One of their latest books, The Daring Mermaid Expedition, had you searching for the scaly critters to obtain entry into the Royal German Marinological Society. Tomorrow, Choice of Games is launching their latest book and it deals with merfolk as well. It's called The Sea Eternal and, instead of having you on the outside looking in, it drops you right into the fins of the merfolk and their culture.
The Sea Eternal posits that merfolk were granted immortality by the whales who only asked that you protect them from the giant squid. Sounds like a pretty good deal, until one of the merfolk decides to do away with the gift of immortality and then all hell breaks loose.
Like every other Choice of Games book, The Sea Eternal will be more than a choose-your-own-adventure book, it will keep stats throughout the game, changing responses and endings based on the different paths you've chosen. The Sea Eternal is written by Lynnea Glasser and is over 280,000 words. That's all it is, too. Don't go in expecting any pictures or sound effects, but don't let that scare you off. Choice of Games produces some of the best written interactive fiction out there, so pictures aren't really necessary.
The Sea Eternal will be available for iOS and Android tomorrow, and will be on sale at launch for 25% off until April 29.
