Upcoming Horus Heresy CCG hits open beta next week

I’ll be honest, I’m not as drawn to the Horus Heresy era as I am mainstream Warhammer 40K. The official novelisation of the legendary galaxy-wide civil war is now at something like 30 or more novels, and I’ve only read the first three. Still, we’ve noticed that Games Workshop are pushing this IP hard on the digital front.

The Horus Heresy: Legions is an upcoming CCG that was announced late last year. It’s been going through a closed beta testing round since then, but now developer Everguild have announced they’re running an open beta starting next week.

This Android-only event (via Google Play Early Access) is due to start on March 15th. You can pre-register to be a part of the beta here, and everyone who does gets in-game rewards. The first 1000 sign-ups get an additional reward worth $20 (although we haven’t been told what either of these entails).

If you need a recap as to what Legions is all about:

The Horus Heresy: Legions is a Collectible Card Game designed and optimized for mobile. Players build Space Marine decks to lead their favourite Legions into battle, join warrior lodges with other players, and take part in epic multiplayer events where the winning faction secures permanent, game-changing effects. With Loken, Khârn, Fulgrim and many more fan favourite characters as playable commanders, players will become a part of historical battles from The Horus Heresy, one of the richest settings in the vast Warhammer 40,000 universe.

The closed beta test is available on both iOS and Android, and the full-release will be available on both platforms when it hits later this year. For now, us Android users get to bask in some much-deserved dedicated sunlight for a spell. Might even take this one for a spin myself since it’s here.

Have you been part of the CBT? Planning on trying out the open beta on Android? Let us know in the comments!
