Welcome to this week's edition of News by Numbers, where we highlight some of the can't-miss mobile gaming news each and every week - keep an eye out for the surprise code giveaway as well!

The Elder Scrolls Legends: version 1.14

Collectible-card game contender The Elder Scrolls: Legends is now available on your phone. Now you can play Bethesda's foray into the genre on your desktop or any mobile device. It’s a fun CCG with solid Arena rewards, if you dig on draft, and well worth a look if you haven't tried it out yet.

Miracle Merchant: August 3rd

Delightful solitaire card game Miracle Merchant hits mobile this week, August 3rd to be exact. Miracle Merchant is a game of potion brewing and customer satisfaction and, to my mind, one of the best games of 2017. You can check out my preview of the game to get you warmed up and then go out and pick this one up.

Onirim: 3rd expansion

Speaking of great solitaire games, Z-Man Games and Asmodee Digital continue to release new content for Onirim at a rapid-fire pace. Door to the Oniverse, the digital game's third expansion, is out now and brings 16 denizen cards and the Door to the Oniverse card to the game. When using the expansion, you have to not only secure the 8 normal doors to win, but also the Door to the Oniverse. The denizens each bring a special ability that will monkey with the rules, potentially, give you a better shot at winning. The Door to the Oniverse expansion will set you back a buck on both iOS and Android.

Eight Minute Empire: 8 to 20 minutes

Exploration and civilization building board game Eight Minute Empire started out as a print-and-play game made by designer Ryan Laukat. Ryan Kickstarted it into a full-fledged board game currently produced by Red Raven Games. Now is being brought to digital life by Acram Digital. Beta testing is underway and Acram announced a release date, for both iOS and Android, of September 5th. The board game supports 2 to 5 players and plays in 8 to 20 minutes so it should be a quick one for mobile.

Strike Team: August 21st launch

Wave Light Games has announced a release date for their much anticipated sci-fi RPG, Strike Team. The Demon's Rise games are great and we've had our eyes on this spiritual successor the whole year. Strike Team features much of what we already love about Wave Light RPGs—you get to handpick your team out of a ton of really cool options, in this case 6 team member from 11 unique fighters, and the game features super realistic, heavily tactical combat. The morale system and terrain elements used to great effect in the Demon's Rise games are also a big part of Strike Team. While the game borrows from its fantasy-based predecessors, Wave Light Games has made it much more like XCOM with the focus on action points. Strike Team has already been approved by Apple and is awaiting an 8/21 release to iOS, with Android to follow at the end of August or early September. Warhammer Quest II: The End Times: 63 second sneak peek

I'm still playing Warhammer Quest. It's a great game on the iPad and perfect for an adventure or two before calling it a night. Warhammer Quest II: The End Times is on the way and part of our 2017 preview guide. Perchang, the game's developer, just dropped a trailer for the game and it looks great. The sequel looks a lot like the original, but in three dimensions. The End Times drops in autumn 2017 but if you haven't played Warhammer Quest it is well worth picking up now.

That's all for this week's news round-up - stay tuned for more newsbites next Monday!
