Space Simulator is calling out those other space sims

Space hook-ups It's not a sin if we do it this way.

Space Simulator is game that's not afraid to throw down a few gauntlets. I love a bit of that. Their marketing copy casually dismisses iOS space sims like the widely-admired F-Sim as "arcadey", which in the world of sims is an insult on par with questioning the respectability of your mother's profession.

To back up that bravado, Space Simulator is promising (literally) the moon - and more besides. The game promises access to a complete model of the solar system and a spread of hardware ranging from Apollo rockets to futuristic stuff that only exists on NASA's Christmas wish list. The iPad game also lets you download an optional app to your iPhone or Android that lets you use that device as a separate display or flight computer. That makes me actually giddy.

You're the cutest thing that I ever did see Some people call me the space cowboy.

It all sounds too good to be true to me, but there's a trailer below and a bevy of screenshots on developer Simvex's website to assuage skeptics. The devs hope to release for iPad this year sometime. Make sure you stick with the trailer until the very end because that when things go from science to fiction.
