Brilliant Steam Deck indie game Cult of the Lamb is now at its lowest ever price

Cultists and cuteness seems like a weird mix, but Steam Deck gem Cult of the Lamb is brilliant - and it’s now at its lowest price.

If you told me that starting a cult could be as fun as Cult of the Lamb makes it out to be, I would’ve done so years ago. Okay, that’s not true, but this indie gem is worth adding to your library, as it makes for a great experience on the Steam Deck, delivering a cutesy way of leading a cult, as you defy heretics and seek ultimate power. Sound fun? It is.

The best Steam Deck games are typically indie titles, and that’s for good reason. While Valve’s excellent handheld console can take on triple-A games, even some released in 2025, indie gems usually have lower system requirements – making them perfect for an on-the-go portable PC like the Steam Deck.

Cult of the Lamb’s entire premise also makes it an excellent game on the handheld. As a lamb possessed after being saved from death by a stranger, you’ll need to repay your debt by starting a following in his name. You explore procedurally-generated levels as you fight against those who defy your growing cult, before returning to a cute village that you’re building for your crew of cultists.

It’s a great pairing of the best cozy games and the best action games, with Cult of the Lamb delivering two halves of a very strange coin. Best of all, the game has received plenty of updates since launch that have expanded the content a lot. I’m talking about local co-op, more quests, new weapons, more ways to get followers (like eggs), and of course, plenty of bug fixes for great performance.

Considering the horror roguelite gets a lot of praise from players and critics alike, it’s no wonder people describe it as one of the best games like Hades – although, it’s certainly a unique spin on the genre. In our Cult of the Lamb review, Nathan Ellingsworth calls it an “incredibly detailed and accomplished game that deftly balances combat with managing your very own occult village”, and I’d certainly agree.

For a short time, you can pick up Cult of the Lamb for just $12.49 / £9.74 at Humble Bundle, instead of the typical $24.99 / £19.49 price it usually is. While it’s got the coveted Steam Deck Verified badge, this game also runs on the best Steam Deck alternatives, so if you’ve got your hands on a nifty ASUS ROG Ally or a Lenovo Legion Go, you’re still in for a fantastic time.

While you’re grabbing a copy of Cult of the Lamb for Valve’s excellent handheld, we suggest picking up a new Steam Deck dock – especially if you’re looking to play co-op on a bigger screen. That being said, it’s still an excellent single-player game if you’re looking to be a lone wolf (or lamb, I guess).
