Bandai Namco has announced the next addition to its smash-hit action RPG based on the Dragon Ball Z anime, as Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s Bardock DLC flies onto consoles next year. Announced at TGS, the Bardock DLC is the first of three DLC packs making up the second season pass for the title.
We don’t have a Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Bardock DLC release date yet, or a date for any of the two subsequent DLC packs expected to make up the season pass outside of a vague ‘2023’ release window. We also have no information on what the next two DLC packs include, but considering the initial DLC covers the Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods movie, it wouldn’t surprise us to see Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F retold in Kakarot, or perhaps even a jump to some of the events of Dragon Ball Super.
The Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Bardock DLC covers some of the backstories of Goku’s father, as previously told in the movie Dragon Ball Z: Bardock – The Father of Goku from 1990. This story is also retold in the 2018 movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly, and now ties more in line with Akira Toriyama’s manga and the general canon of Dragon Ball. While we don’t know for sure, if we had to guess, we expect the story to more closely follow the events of Dragon Ball Super, especially as the most recent manga arc, “Granolah The Survivor”, leans heavily into Bardock and his adventures on the Frieza Force.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Bardock DLC release date
The only information we have for a Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Bardock DLC release date so far is a vague 2023 release window for all three packs of the season two pass. So, we know all three DLC release next year, and presumably, that means the Bardock DLC is due to arrive earlier on in the year. We’ll update you as soon as we have more information.
