Fanatical has given away two Steam Decks for $1 - maybe you'll get a third

Fanatical has given away two Steam Decks for $1 through the Mystery Gem bundle, and there's a chance you could get one too.

A Steam Deck floating enticingly in a digital void.

The Fanatical Mystery Gem Bundle gives people the chance to get a completely random Steam key in exchange for $1 / £1. Essentially, it's a digital lucky dip, and those who are lucky enough have pulled out a Steam Deck OLED after reaching into the virtual mystery bag of delights.

The bundle works by giving you the chance of having 1, 5, 10, 15, 20 or 25 mystery keys. Each one of these is a random Steam game, and not only that, but also a chance to win something even fancier - like a Steam Deck OLED.

There's a lot of fun in filling your library with random games like this. Even if you get something "bad" if there's one thing that streamers and YouTubers have taught us, it's that you can have a lot of fun while playing these weird and obscure titles. Of course, you also never know when you're going to find an indie gem that you fall in love with, either.

What really sets the Fanatical Mystery Gem bundle apart is the risk-versus-reward. Whatever you get, it's going to be worth more than what you paid for. Even if you end up hating it, at the end of the day, all you've lost is $1 - so who cares, right? And even then, if it's heinously unlikeable, you've still got a story to tell.

There's also a chance you'll actually get something good. I'm focusing a lot on the negatives here, but there are quite a few triple-A games included in this bundle. If you're lucky enough to get one of the "Golden Gems" you might find yourself with Silent Hill F,  Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, or Dune Awakening, among many others. They may not all be Steam Deck verified, but they're all worth having.

The Fanatical Mystery Gem bundle is only available until Monday, December 8th, 2025. If you fancy having a go, make sure you don't miss your chance.
