Fortnite's creator Epic Games is offering you two free cult classic games this Halloween

The Halloween fun extends beyond Fortnitemares in the Epic Games Store, with two horror cult classics coming to the free games section this week.

If you haven't been low on money and scouring the Internet trying to get the best deals on games, then I suppose you may not realize how good the Epic Games Store is. The creator of Fortnite regularly runs deals on games, offering discounts - but more importantly, dropping one or two free games every week. This week, it's focusing on horror games to provide Halloween spooks in your life, giving away FNAF: Into the Pit, and Bendy and the Ink Machine until November 6 for absolutely nothing at all.

All you have to do to claim the games is sign in or make an account with Epic Games. The store won't ask for a credit card, nor does it have tiny terms and conditions that actually require you to spend a certain amount in the store before you can claim your goods. It's just free, and you keep the games forever. Pretty neat, huh? I've played the entirety of the likes of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, The Outer Worlds, and Stray Gods thanks to this feature, and I'm excited to download the new horror games ASAP.

Bendy and the Ink Machine is a beloved first-person action puzzle game, known for its unique art-style and innovative gameplay. It's available to download on Epic Games through the Android mobile app, iOS app, and PC store alike. Unfortunately, the iOS Epic Games store is only available for EU customers at the moment, with the UK and Japan to follow soon - but even if you're outside those countries, I recommend getting it on the PC store anyway, in case Epic someday opens up and has a global iOS launch.

On the other end of the deal, Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit is one of the most highly rated and enjoyed FNAF spinoff games there is, and it released only last year. It's 2D and uses pixel art, setting it apart from your average FNAF game. We liked it so much, we gave it 9/10 in our FNAF: Into the Pit review.

The game is available to play on Nintendo Switch, but you won't be able to get it through Epic Games that way. In order to take advantage of the freebie on a portable platform, you'll need a handheld PC like the Steam Deck or the ROG Ally X, and a piece of software called Heroic Games. Or, if that all sounds like too much of a hassle, you can claim the goods now and wait to see if a mobile version releases - I personally think it's a game that suits mobile.

Either way, it pays to keep an eye on the Epic Games Store, as the Fortnite dev is always looking to celebrate with you - the Christmas Day release is always spectacular. I hope you enjoy your time with some of the best horror games, and if you need more ideas for free fun, you can check out our list of the best free Switch games, or the best free mobile games, if that floats your boat instead.
