There's still time to drop in for Fortnite Golden Hour, and the rewards are worth it

Forget Power Hour, getting Golden Sprites and other goodies in Fortnite Golden Hour is a great reason to play.

Sprites are here to stay in Fortnite, so you might as well start hunting for the best of them. To make that easier, Epic Games is encouraging players to land on the island at specific times, known as Fortnite Golden Hour. If you've been playing over the last few seasons, then it's very similar to Power Hour. While it doesn't last forever, there's still time to reap the rewards.

Golden Hour is a chance to play Fortnite with an extra 1-up token and an additional Portable Extractor. That means when you come across Sprites you need, you don't need to haul them over to an extractor across the map. It isn't just any Sprites appearing, either. Epic Games is increasing the chances of claiming Golden Sprites, and let me tell you, there are a fair few to collect.

However, it does mean competition in-game is fiercer. Alongside an increase in Golden Sprites, you can find the Midas Masterpiece Pistol more often in the loot pool. I wish that John Wick's 9mm Baba Yaga, a variant of the Lancehead pistol, was still kicking about. Nevertheless, depending on where you are, you have two sessions to choose from.

So, here are the times for Fortnite Golden Hour session one:

  • Japan (JST), August 23: 3:00 AM - 5:00 AM
  • South Korea (KST), August 23: 3:00 AM - 5:00 AM
  • Australia (AEST), August 23: 4:00 AM - 6:00 AM
  • New Zealand (NZST), August 23: 6:00 AM - 8:00 AM

If you miss the first session or the times don't line up with your region, don't worry; there are still a few more options to consider. Whether you're a night owl or happen to be playing anyway, these are the times for Golden Hour session two:

  • UK (BST), August 23: 2:00 AM - 4:00 AM
  • Europe (CEST), August 23: 3:00 AM - 5:00 AM
  • Japan (JST), August 23: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • South Korea (KST), August 23: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Australia (AEST), August 23: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • New Zealand (NZST), August 23: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

But what about the rewards? As I said earlier, Golden Sprites are more common during these sessions. In total, there are 11 variants to collect. Four of them are in the Rare tier; another four are in the Epic tier. Just one is Legendary and two are Mythic. If you're on the hunt for the rarest, then the Gold Klombo and Gold Crown Sprite are worth keeping an eye out for.
