For just one week, Kevin McCallister lived it up in his parents' outlandish Chicago home. He ate mac and cheese and watched action movies. He also fended off Joe Pesci from eating his fingers. So what if all those shenanigans become Fortnite canon? With Winterfest approaching fast, rumors of a Fortnite Home Alone crossover are emerging. I just have one hope, though.
If you're out of the Fortnite loop, Winterfest is an annual event where Epic Games gives players free rewards. Be those new Fortnite skins, Back Blings, Gliders, Jam Tracks, or other goodies. Maybe even some new Fortnite codes if we're lucky. The best part is that often, some of these items are themed, tying into some kind of movie, TV show, or musician. My personal favorite is the Sentinel Glider, a gift to celebrate the release of The Matrix Resurrections in 2021.
Winterfest 2025 isn't too far away, either. If we look at the game's usual cadence for this update, we should see it land around Thursday, December 18, 2025. This patch is also rumored to include the debut of the DeLorean, which I'm desperate to acquire. But alongside all of this, leakers 'HYPEX' and 'Blortzen' claim that Epic Games is planning to bring the Home Alone series to the game. Blortzen says that "a Home Alone collab should be arriving for this year's Winterfest" and that it's bringing the Wet Bandits.
As for Kevin McCallister, McCaulay Culkin's beloved character isn't hinted at. Given that Kevin is eight in Home Alone, I'm wondering how Epic Games can make a skin of him that fits the game's requirements. The recent skins for Bart Simpson and Lisa Simpson put them in mech suits, as a way of making their heights match Fortnite's hitboxes. Because those characters are short too, these mech suits make it easier to catch them in your sightlines. Epic needs to think out of the box for this one.
Either way, if Kevin does arrive, I'm hoping for a TalkBoy emote or Harvesting Tool. Yeah, I know, that's Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, but Epic might as well honor the first two movies properly. Maybe a Little Nero's Pizza delivery car Glider? A Home Alone theme Jam Track? Make it happen. It's a better collaboration idea than the new Fortnite Kim Kardashian skins, that's for sure.
In the meantime, I recommend checking out Prop Hunt: Home Alone. It's a fan-made Fortnite Creative experience that pays homage to the first movie, with a decent recreation of the McCallister home to explore. The map code is 1468-8833-8480.
