Fortnite and Monster High team up for a new horror map, and it's live right now

Monster High Investigation is live in Fortnite now, but you’ll need your friends to wander through The Catabombs in this spooky map.

In October, we got our first taste of the Monster High Fortnite collaboration, with the launch of Paranormal Peril. This neat co-op experience explores plenty of beloved places in Monster High history, with a few familiar faces to see along the way. Epic Games and Look North World are back with a fresh Fortnite Monster High crossover. It won't take you too long to complete, so don't worry if you're grinding for that Marty McFly skin.

Monster High Investigation is available to play in Fortnite right now. Serving as an overhaul of Paranormal Peril, the soft relaunch of this custom map features a brand-new area, the Catacombs. Found underneath Monster High School, fans of the long-running toyline and books can see it up close like never before. Similar to the recent Poppy Playtime Fortnite collaboration, you can play this in solo or with three friends in co-op, as you explore a series of hauntings at the school.

As you take a tour around the grounds, you can collect evidence and interact with characters such as Cleo, Clawdeen, Frankie, Lagoona, and more. Mattel says that at launch, a total of 12 characters are part of Monster High Investigation. It seems to be a limited-time Fortnite Creative experience, but who knows? Maybe more updates will add other fan-favorites. Alongside the Catacombs, there are also other POIs to catch a glimpse of. These include The Deep End pool, Hexiciah Steam's lab, and C.A. Cupid's old radio station.

To get through the whole of Monster High Investigation, you only need around ten minutes of spare time, but you can explore to your heart's content. Plus, there's XP to gain from checking Creative maps. And trust me, it goes a long way when you're chipping away at all the latest Battle Pass rewards. The map code, if you want to check it out, is 3449-2677-1935. Or you can tap this link if you're playing on a handheld PC.

The map comes from Look North World, the studio behind other Fortnite experiences such as Guess Who?, Connect 4, and Sweat City.  Could we see some Monster High skins in the Item Shop in the future? While Mattel isn't commenting on that right now, I reckon there's a chance it could happen. If the support is strong enough to warrant a custom lobby like this, then anything is possible - especially in Fortnite.
