Re: Stellaris: DLC Buying Guide

Thanks for the explanation. Can you elaborate a bit more on how they “flattened” it? Could you zoom in more on the planets before or something? Really appreciate it. More of a conceptual 'flatness', in the sense that they're not really bothering to take into account the 3D nature of space anymore. ...

Re: Stellaris: DLC Buying Guide

Was looking into buying Stellaris, but then saw a ton of Steam reviews claiming that the 2.0 update ruined the game. Is this true? Would a new player like me be able to tell the difference? Re:

I'd say, the best DLC guide would be to scout around the "Workshop" and download the overhaul unit and factions mods. TW's biggest draw, for me atleast, is the Modding culture that always follows and some developers are involved in. Med II and Rome II have great modding capability. I'm currently ru...

Re:

That article was doomed from the start because of the superlative in the title but it's worst than I expected. Not only some of the titles are more tactical than strategic but you missed so many good turn-based games (strategic and tactical)... *** Panzer Corps ***, Battle Academy, Warhammer quest,...

Re: <t>The Strategy Gamer's Guide to... The Best (Modern) Turn-Based Strategy Games</t>

Thinking about picking up Endless Space 2 for $12 in the current humble bundle. It has to be worth it, right? Already own Endless Legend, but haven’t had a chance to play it much. Also, heads up for those who don’t know: you can get Endless Legend + DLC for under $7 plus some other goodies in the b...

Re:

Maybe replace Neuroshima Hex since it???s a boardgame?
Yeah when we refresh the guide that'll probably be the first to go, and then it might turn up in the board game article instead :D

Re: Strategy Game Maps

I think looking at various iterations of the RISK board would serve you well here - really you should have a combination of several factors - choke points in key areas, but also larger zones where you want people to fight over.

Re:

No love for the Combat Mission X2 series?
You're not the first to ask! I'm not as familiar with that series so it didn't make the cut this time around, but quite a few people have flagged them up as good games so they'll probably be in V2 of the is.
