Re: <t>Oak & Iron - Naval Battles in the Age of Piracy Review</t>

Actually, can't help you much there as I have never played the game nor does it ring a bell per all the conventions I attend or social media groups I'm on. I just downloaded the rules, but I have yet to peruse them. I will say that one immediate turn-off for me personally is that it covers - yet, ag...

Re: <t>Cold Wars 2020 Convention Report - COVID-19 Edition</t>

FWIW, I think this may be a reference to the local TV news reporter that evidently showed up, not me. I gotta see if I can find that online, if only to correctly target Langley (they owe me favors) towards who they need to drop by for coffee and attitude readjustment. But you really could stop me. F...

Re: <t>Cold Wars 2020 Convention Report - COVID-19 Edition</t>

Oh, I don't necessarily think so, due to good planning and some damn good luck. The timing put HMGS right smack in the middle of a "Hell if you do, Hell if you don't" situation. The convention literally ran right between the time authorities said "just be careful" and "quarantine everything." So for...

Re: <t>Blood and Valor Review</t>

Book 2 - MOST EXCELLENT!!! Can't wait. I like chaos driven games, so I had a really good time playing it for the article. At Cold Wars so will stop by Phalanx if I can to grab some photos of their demo game. Are those figures 3D printed? Seriously, tho, if you could swing it, Blackadder would be ove...

Re: <t>A Las Barricadas! Review</t>

This game is completely self contained and can be played solitaire without anything else. The game box indicates moderate solitaire capability, and I had no trouble playing it that way for the review.

Here I mean that if the fortress takes a step loss, you can turn the counter upside down to hide the current strength and over the course of a game, players tend to forget.

But yeah, I got burned at least twice by this trick.

GalactiFi, sure did, damn! Yes, the Maritime Holy Warriors of the Czar are there in all their glory, dutifully sailing towards Tsushima (ahem).

And yes, Michiel Adriaenszoon, I agree with you totally.

WUT!!! You're not playing Age of Eagles. Oh the pain, the suffering, the humiliation, how can I go on when such travesties afflict me. Alas, adieu!

(and Merry Christmas :) )

Oddly enough, I have that game, still in shrink wrap, story of my life. I have played the Narva scenario in Matrix Pike&Shot Campaigns many, many times. Excellent game.
