Re: <t>E3 2018: Command & Conquer: Rivals Announced</t>

I think it is about time we stop calling these abominations "games." I, personally, don't have too many issues with the core concept of the game as described, and I don't even mind that it uses the Command & Conquer license. The problem is that we all know that gameplay will be a hollow husk aimed s...

Re: <t>Pocket Tactics Presents: The Best iOS Board Games and Card Games (Android too!)</t>

Swapped out Patchwork for Neuroshima Hex . Because I can. Why not just add Neuroshima Hex. Patchwork is a great 2-player game that can be very appealing to non-gamers. Plus, it actually works. Neuroshima Hex is one of my favorite games but the online is very broken. I can't even invite friends to g...

What is Scythe doing that hasn't been done by games like Terra Mystica or Through the Ages, both of which are more complex and fiddly on the table?

Re: Pocket Tactics' Guide to 2018

I don't know the state of the game other than that it was supposed to come out last summer and is now coming "soon," but Exodus Proxima Centauri is supposed to be on its way to iOS as well.

Re: Board Game of the Year 2017: Race for the Galaxy

I am curious how Race for the Galaxy qualifies as a board game where Through the Ages is considered a card game. The two are awfully similar in how they use cards to build tableaus; if anything, there are even more board game elements in TtA, since you have to manage different tracts with cubes. Asi...

Re: PT Guides: Like... Starcraft? You'll Love These!

"These are the best mobile titles inspired by the legendary sci-fi real strategy game." Starcraft is about as much a "strategy" game as Diablo. But apparently only real-time games are "real strategy"? I thought turn-based warfare sims require about 1000x strategy and thought as a Starcraft click-fe...

I just got my hardcore necromancer to 70. I might give Titan Quest a go as I haven't played it in well over a decade.

Re: Review: Epic Little War Game

So there is online, and it is asynchronous, correct? Here is the big question for me - is online for 2-players only, or can I do 3-player online asynchronous skirmishes?

Re: PT Guide: Carcassonne DLC Buying Guide [Part 1]

I own every physical expansion for Carcassonne. I used to be a junkie. In my opinion (and this is likely not the popular opinion), if you can only have one expansion is should be Princess & Dragon. My reason for this is that it makes the most drastic changes to the game. If you want a less confronta...

Re: Out Now: Cards, Adventures, and More Cards

Is there a rule that PT can't identify the game in the main image for the post? Seems like someone always has to ask...

OK, I'll be the guy this week. What's the game in the headline?
It looks like the Imperial City from Oblivion, so I'm guessing it has to do with the Elder Scrolls card game.
