Re: News By Numbers - 20th February, 2017

Bit City is made by NimbleBit, so anyone familiar with their typical game design should know what they are getting in to. I generally despise free to play garbage, but I have been a NimbleBit fan since I first bought an iPhone and spent way too much time breeding as many frogs I could in Pocket Frog...

Re:

I could get in a dungeon run while making my morning coffee with enough difficulty to mean I might hav...

Re: News By Numbers - January 16th, 2017

At $2 I may have to try out the baseball game. It has been many a year since I went into that genre back in the days of Baseball Stars and that cyber base wars 2020 game for the NES, but there is some interesting team management strategy to be mined there, I expect. I haven't actually played it yet...

Re:

The latest official Magic title on Android might only be Magic : Duels of the Planeswalkers 2015, which IIRC isn't that good and doesn't work very well... But Forge, one of the many unofficial Magic game "emulators", has an Android version! http://www.slightlymagic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=14...

I am one of those that has yet to pick up Dream Quest specifically because of the art. I don't need beauty, but there is something to be said for visual appeal. I was in the same camp as you. The discussion over DQ's art got beaten to death on the old forums, and I held out until there was a key gi...

I am one of those that has yet to pick up Dream Quest specifically because of the art. I don't need beauty, but there is something to be said for visual appeal. As for this article, I've just begun playing Lost Portal and it is good. One of my go-to games that isn't Magic is Pokemon TCG, which I hav...

Re:

Actually I don't think modern Rogue-likes have necessarily superceded their older counterparts. At least not in terms of depth and game play. The only recent one which has come close to the sheer narrative and tactical joy of Angband and its ilk is FTL which is pretty complex by modern standards. T...
