Re: Re:

Never played Imbroglio. I know it got great reviews, but the deck-building component didn't appeal to me (which is odd, considdering how much I like Star Realms and Cthulhu Realms) - and its art style and user interface look really confusing to an outsider, so I ended up passing on it. If you don't...

Re: PT Guides: Like... Magic: The Gathering? You'll Love These

I am one of those that has yet to pick up Dream Quest specifically because of the art. I don't need beauty, but there is something to be said for visual appeal. I was in the same camp as you. The discussion over DQ's art got beaten to death on the old forums, and I held out until there was a key gi...

Re: Pocket Tactics 2016 GOTY Awards Discussion Thread

So far, so good. The card game voting just reaffirms that I have to take a look at Concrete Jungle soon. The only category I'd argue with is Word/Puzzle. I'm thrilled to see two personal favorites in Mini Metro and Imbroglio earn recognition, but I don't see those as puzzle games. To me, each level ...

Re: Sliding to DEFCON 1: Twilight Struggle tournament thread

geigerm (US) over blackfire1929 (USSR) A great back and forth battle that ended in Round 10, AR7, by DEFCON 1. I thought this one was going to final scoring, where I wasn't sure my 11 point edge would hold up--blackfire dominated Asia and the Middle East--but his play of Grain Sales to Soviets drew ...

Re: Pocket Tactics 2016 GOTY Awards Discussion Thread

Well, I asked for this thread, so I'll start. I already sent in my ballot and immediately started reconsidering because of some of the games I left off. Game of the Year - Imbroglio Runner-Up - Pathfinder Adventures Wildcard - Patchwork: The Game Main Categories Strategy - Tactical - Imbroglio Strat...

Re: Pocket Tactics Game of the Year Awards 2016 – Voting Open!

Ah, I love this time of year. And I appreciate that we'll have a vote in every category--that's a very cool change. Quick question: why e-mail voting as opposed to forum posts? I'm guessing it's easier to tally votes via e-mail, but I appreciate the opportunity to discuss everyone's opinions, so per...

Re:

When does Junk Jack go free? Still looks paid on App Store. Solemn hat tip to Joe Dever. Junk Jack was free and went back to a paid app 10 hours ago, according to AppShopper. Also, I'm not sure how the devs get away with marketing Amiri as a "new" Pathfinder character--she's been available via IAP ...

Re: Review: Football Manager Mobile 2017

I haven't played the 2017 version, but I've played the last couple of FM Mobile games and never spent a dime on in-app purchases. I think the game's great without them. And it certainly works well as a gateway to football sims--I knew very little about the sport coming in, and I think playing the ga...

Re: The most relaxing games for iPad?

I find Monument Valley pretty relaxing, too. It may technically be a puzzle game, but most puzzles aren't difficult, and the atmosphere of the game is arguably its most important feature.
