Patchwork tournament redux

Would anyone be interested in a new Patchwork tournament? I missed the first one through, well, not owning the game, but now I do and I'm a convert. :) I'll message the players on the old site of beloved memory to let them know as well.

Re: Vietnam '65 followup from Every Single Soldier is Afghanistan '11

Let's have no more of this.

Amen. There's something to be said for the old PT forums requirement of a non-dot.com email to register...
And having to write a mini-essay for Owen explaining just why you wanted to join. That was a good filter.

Re: Brass Tournment

I still have NO IDEA what I am doing in these games.... evidenced by me building 4 ports and almost going bankrupt! This is actually a decent strategy, but you'll need to hope that everyone else is building mills and you'll need to be building coal mines and iron works to keep your income ticking o...

Re: Brass Tournment

One of these days, I'll actually make a Shipyard strategy work. I never build them because they get unwieldy, but then somebody builds at least one and beats me... I think this is one of the ways 3- and 4-player games differ. If you look at the top-scoring games at OotH, you'll see that the highest...

Re: I wish that was my first post.

It's up to the rest of you 'Good Guys' to do something about it.
You want us to invade Afghanistan.
And this time do it right, godammit.

It's not like we haven't had enough practice.

Re: Quality first post.

This game seems to be leave a bad taste in my mouth. I'm from the U.K and after observing the recent U.S presidential election campaign and the popularity of a certain candidate suggests to me this type of game is Manner from Heaven to many many Americans. How sad ! It's up to the rest of you 'Good...

Re: Where are these games?

For Overland, I wondered this myself back in January- my post on the old forums is here: http://pockettactics.vanillaforums.com/discussion/4427/whatever-happened-to-overland Basically the main game ran into the usual time and cash overruns and the iOS version seems to have disappeared from the 'comi...

They changed it and now it's worse.

Well, that's different. In any big change, there are always going to be resistant grumpy old men who remember the good old days. Looks like one of them is going to be me. The whole site lacks the cleanliness of design and crispness of PT2.0. It's a great shame that all the forum content and user inf...
