The NWS wargaming store has a free demo of Steam and Iron. This provides a few pre-Jutland scenarios to experiment with.

Thanks for the detailed and informative review. I hadn't heard of Rule the Waves. Looks even better than Steam and Iron. Graphics are a matter of opinion but personally I like spreadsheets and diagrams. These types of games make a refreshing change from incessant eye candy. Looking forward to furthe...
