I don't remember exactly when it started, sorry. Now it is back to normal. I'll also check on my iPad, to be sure.
And @Tamsk is correct: I'm using Chrome.

Edit: it also works on my iPad, so nothing to worry I guess.

It's not that bad. In-game, it does a good job. And it avoids the generic fantasy pseudo-realism that seems to be the go-to art direction for a lot of CCG these days.
