I would also say that Wolves with the shieldwall infantry based armies brings a bit of the ancient phalanx back in contrast to the early dark ages warbands.

Interesting. Vassal has been around awhile, but I guess the TTS is taking this to another level. I would hope that boardgame companies would embrace TTS and go with a royalty scheme vs. a C&D letter.

Firelock just wrapped up a Kickstarter for their 17th century naval fleet combat game Oak & Iron. Backers are supposed to receive the game around October of this year. There is a tie in to Blood & Plunder as well.

Don't forget for painters on a budget craft paints such as Apple Barrel are perfectly acceptable and can usually be had for .99 for much more than you get in a Vallejo bottle. I use a mix of craft paint and Vallejo.
