Result report: rinelk over cgareth in round 1, by way of victory points.
Round 1? The mind boggles.
I'd be very interested in a match summary if you are willing to provide one
Sorry, I meant round 1 of the tournament, not of the game. The game wasn't that informative, I think--as the USSR, I got a bunch of the good events, and just built up too much momentum. I don't think I ever had to play a US event which hurt me much--some powerful ones ended up not mattering at the ends of turns, and the only time I remember losing a roll was one war. Cgareth ended up with some nasty events he had to space, and didn't quite have time to recover.

As I'm getting trounced by irishdomer08, would anyone else like a practice game before we get to round 2?

I could also use some practice--mgeiger9 in Playdek (if we're not already friends). Complete noob learning things the hard way, one fluky victory notwithstanding.

Game 8, Me vs Prinny came to an abrupt end as he had no other choice as to play the europe score card.

Sorry prinny, you had a real bad draw in that round. I had no clue what I was doing (first game), but the instant win by dominating europe sounds good to me in the tutorial, so I tried it. :D
Prinny was ahead with 7 VP, but his last draw was just horrible. GG.

Your insistence for going all out on Europe (and my negligience at the start on top of the bad positioning in the bginning) was sure paying off. I was thinking the whole second round that you KNEW for a fact that I had the Europe Score card.....but how without cheating? ;-P

In hindsight I should have headlined Europe Scoring not Asia Scoring, but I wanted to cash in the slight advantage I had in Asia before you play ther China Card.

Damn do I hate the early scoring cards.....
Also your draw was extraordinary. Red Scare, Romanian Abdication and Socialist Governments....the pityful Unrest in Eastern Europe didn't help at all against your barrage...

So that's games 5 and 8 done already. I wonder if the 45-day limit was a bit pessimistic...

I assume everyone else's game has started without problems. Let me know if not, etc.
