Sliding to DEFCON 1: Twilight Struggle tournament thread

We are ready to start, and I'll post the randomised list shortly. Edit: done. Tick

The tournament is a 5-round Swiss tournament, and the person(people) at the top of the list after 5 rounds is/are the winner(s). Tie break is the result of the game between the tied players. Choose 'standard game' and 'no optional cards' (thank you irishdomer08).

The first round pairings have been randomly allocated and are listed in the next post, after which you will be paired with someone on the same score (or as near as possible). Ideally you'll alternate between the USSR and USA in successive games, although sometimes that won't be doable for everyone. Use the 45 day timer, but do try and move promptly. As organiser, I will nag and harry slowbies, and may arbitrarily rule a game over or forfeit if it's holding everyone up unfairly. Be prepared to settle in for the long haul, and accept we may still be playing this time next year...

There is a separate discussion thread to keep the tournament thread relatively clear here: http://www.pockettactics.com/forum/view ... 12&t=10174

Round 1 pairings, courtesy of random.org. First player is the evil commies, the second player is the capitalist hyenas. If your Playdek name is different to your forum name, do say so. Let me know if there are any problems.

USSR vs USA

1) bigjimou vs Zebracadabra
2) john_l vs Baelnor
3) doublebullout vs skoptic
4) SpiceTheCat vs Ferret96
5) rinelk vs Cgareth
6) hardco vs irishdomer08
7) Snotty128 vs Kolbex
8) Holsten-Knight vs Private Prinny
9) JammaTal vs whovian223
10) geigerm vs JMH.75
11) JaneHatke vs Blackfire1929
12) Empt vs SleepingGiant

Good luck. The fate of the world is in your hands. Dear God.

Yes, thank you. I will annotate the rules accordingly.

Commies send invites? Is it worth noting (now that we are underway, naturally, and when it no longer makes a difference) that apparently +2 starting influence for the US is apparently considered "balanced"?

@Blackfyre, please delete game and accept new invite. You are supposed to be USA. Sorry.
