And chat! Playdek was supposed to have an awesome chat system.

Hopefully BigDaddy can get this straightened out.

I can't even attach my Gamecenter account to Eclipse.

I choose the option, the first time it doesn't do anything. I choose it again, and the game goes dark and I can't continue. Have to close it and re-open it.

Can connect Google (didn't try FB).

That's what I experienced the first time I tried it. I tried again the following morning and it connected to Gamecenter successfully. Unfortunately, there were no friends listed at that point...

Tried last night, this morning, and just now.

Same thing.

a fix for "screen locking on iOS" and for many other bugs is out. (2.0.4)
but still the GC friendslist is empty and dark as most parts of the universe.
and still no answer by BDC support to my email.

even the stone-age old game Stone Age can bring up my GC friendslist for sending invites, AND there is an "invite by email" button. way to go!
if GC integration should be an insurmountable obstacle, what about such an option then, BDC?

i will create a public game called "only for PT friends" (or so) at about 4 pm NY time today (25th of September).
let's see who will be there to join.

could i as creator kick strangers? or refuse to accept strangers? guess not.

oh the bitter irony!
for such a long time we missed vital features like replays, AI being able to take control over dropouts and all players able to see next round info.
and now when we have got it, just in this long awaited moment, apple decided to cripple GC!
You couldn't make it up!

Great news with BDC following up on their promise to update Eclipse. Well done Lukasz! Not so great news re: Apple scoring another own goal. I don't have time at the moment to play Eclipse, however I'll be interested in the next Eclipse MP game once a couple of guinea pigs road-test Eclipse 2.0.

So, I'm out until the next major update. What are a few more years of waiting.

Snotty, Holsten, hardco and me are in the game with two strangers now, of whom one seems to have left the game already. AI has taken over.

when setting the orientation of explored sectors it's hard to see the wormhole exits. just too dark.
you can go back and memorize, but that should be fixed in an update.

lots of activities in the lobby, thanks to crossplatforming.

Lukasz from BDC support has sent me the following answer to my email:

"Re: no private invitations to GC friends?
Your GC friends have to register their GC accounts on our server before you can add them (in the Online Account sub-menu). That's the only requirement."

but haven't we all connected to GC inside of Eclipse since long?
i'm playing with hardco, Snotty and Holsten in a public game, so they must have connected to GC to be able to play online.
but i can't see them on the friendslist inside of Eclipse, nor could i add anyone at all.

so what do i miss? what exactly does Lukasz mean when he says "friends have to register their GC accounts on our server"?
could it be that this is something else than simply "connecting to GC" inside of Eclipse?
i have searched through the BDC website but could not find any kind of registration system (like DoW has for playing TtR or SmW2).
can anybody help? any idea?

i have sent an answer to Lukasz, asking for (more) help.
