As good a place as any in the new colony. What're you folks devouring?

Dan Carlin just dropped a new Hardcore History, so looking forward to seeking out the 4.5 hours required.

Dan Carlin is amazing. Hardcore History belongs on every PTer's podcast feed.

Also on my regular list is Freakonomics, Still Untitled: The Adam Savage Project, and Unjustly Maligned (Antony Johnston from The Incomparable.)

Mike Duncan's "Revolutions" podcast is wonderfully done.

http://www.revolutionspodcast.com/

He's currently 15 episodes into the Haitian revolution, but he's done English, American, and French previously.

You may know him from the History of Rome, which was also excellent.

A few more from the feed:

Thinking Sideways
http://thinkingsidewayspodcast.com

A good mystery podcast, where a trio of sleuths with super good chemistry discuss and aim to solve mysteries great and small, benign and macabre.

War College
http://blogs.reuters.com/war-college/

Reuters-run fun on all sorts of military and geopolitical goings-on. Sometimes great, often very good. Dependable discussion, if anything.

Sword & Scale
http://swordandscale.com

True crime at its most well-produced. Earlier episodes were rubber-neck voyeuristic, like a Rotten dot com matinee, but they've become a little easier to listen to. Smiley. Face.

Future Tense
http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/pro ... turetense/
An Australian government radio production on current tech trends. Concise, good variety of topics covered, no mucking about. True blue.

SAYER: life on a space station with a benevolent AI. Best to say benevolent. There are no bees on Typhon. http://geeklyinc.com/category/sayer/

In Our Time: the most donnish of discussions, with Melvyn Bragg and a table full of academics talking about the subject of the week. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006qyk ... /downloads
