Deck-building games are the tofu of the tabletop world, inherently tasteless but particularly suited to taking on various flavors. ... ood-truck/

I've played both Colt Express and Space Food Truck
2 great games until we want to play them online
Both of them are a painful experience regarding lobbies and some other issues
I am a bit surprised that one score 2 stars and the other 4.

Though I have major issues with the randomness in the game, the example that you gave with the engineer getting trapped and becoming useless is actually not possible. The engineer's wrench and duct tape can be used from any room. Even if they couldn't, the captain could use her Captain's Orders to move him regardless of broken doors or if you happen to encounter a Handy Man he could fix the door.

My biggest problem with the game is that it's a sloppy port from the desktop version. Touch targets for the planets on the map are too small and poorly placed. Sometimes when the map is moving, you can see planets light up as if there were a cursor over them. And there are certain cards that if you play them before specific animations finish, you will lose the buttons you need to play the game and will have to quit and reload.
