You know how in all those classic sci-if TV shows there is inevitably an episode where the hero defeats some evil AI by giving it a question it cannot answer, causing its head to explode, or something? That is me with an RPG where I have parties to build...
I have started and restarted this game countless times since release and cannot for the life of me pick a party. I can't even decide on a how many characters I want, let alone which to pick. Yes, I know I can play as many as I like, play quest mode, etc., but I would like one main party that I use to march through story mode and my head is about to explode trying to come up with one.
Who do you guys play with?
I always like to include Sajan because he is awesome at breaking the normal rules and I love rolling a handful of d12s to beat a 10 check with a 65. But then I feel like I've ruled out other Dex-based characters. And I like Lini for flavor but she's such a jack-of-all-trades that I get worried that if I bring her I'm taking up a spot better reserved for a specialist. Same with Lem.
I love that our experiences and perceptions are so different. I won't presume to give you advice, because our preferences diverge so widely, but I will say that you've inspired me to try out some different parties than I otherwise would.
Re: Sajan - the base set comes with one set of polyhedral dice (minus a d20). If you have all three base sets you have three sets of polyhedrals and one d20 from Wrath of the Righteous. If you play Sajan, you don't have enough dice for some of his rolls
Yes, I know you can just roll and re-roll, but you could also just gather up a bucket of old D&D dice, grab a handful, and start chucking away. He breaks the game's rules and makes blessing cycling quite a bit of fun for me.
