As a former pen & paper RPG player, I remember Castle Falkenstein replaced dice with an interesting poker card system. Besides allowing players to focus more on the story, it was an innovative and quick way of dealing with cumbersome rules. Okay, now I'm feeling old :).

Which is a mix of Solitaire and Dungeon Crawler.

Hanabi is a very clever multiplayer solitaire where you collectively have to play cards in a specific order… except the players holds their cards backwards, meaning you don't know what cards you have and rely on your fellow players to drop you (carefully regulated) hints.

The mytery rummy series was mentioned. I've played the Jack the ripper one and it was A clever mash up of theme onto rummy meld mechanism. recommend a light filler game.
