Review: Carcassonne

Tue Dec 05, 2017 4:30 pm

Carcassonne is the aged grandparent of mobile board game adaptations. For those unfamiliar it's a simple mix of tile-laying, collaborative art and vicious one-upmanship.

I've been enjoying it quite a bit. It doesn't really match up to the iOS version with its multitude of expansions, but I prefer this version over the old Android one. The 3D view is pretty nifty, and while the art is slightly modified it's done in a way that makes it easy to tell what's going on with each tile.

There's definitely a lot of room for improvement. More expansions, more AI options, and the ability to name each player to name a few. But for the current $2 price I'd say it's definitely worth it for fans of the game who have an Android device.
