Genshin Impact’s Kachina is one of the first Natlan characters that we meet in our journey through the nation of pyro. She’s an adorable warrior of the Nanatzcayan, persistent in her quest to succeed alongside her tiny drill mount, Turbo Twirly.

Kachina’s best weapon is the Footprint of the Rainbow forgeable Natlan polearm. Her best artifact set is a full set of Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City. Make sure to roll for plenty of defense, geo damage bonus, and energy recharge.
How should I use Kachina?
Thanks to her defense-scaling strength and her burst’s geo field, you should build Kachina as a geo sub-DPS. Thanks to Nightsoul’s Blessing-related skills, she works particularly well in teams with other Natlan characters, as well as in mono-geo comps.
Use Turbo Twirly to zoom across the battlefield and deal AoE geo damage when striking the ground, and then pop her burst to create a geo field.
What are the best Kachina weapons?
Due to her defense-based scaling and how much Turbo Twirly factors into her kit, Kachina’s best weapon is Footprint of the Rainbow, one of Natlan’s forgeable weapons. As a four-star forgeable polearm, it’s one of the more accessible options and it’s practically tailored for Kachina’s kit.
If you happen to have a spare one lying around, Engulfing Lightning is a good five-star pick for Kachina to power up her burst, but you’re better off saving that polearm for a main DPS. Instead, consider Favonius Lance or The Catch if you can’t craft Footprint of the Rainbow yet.

The Catch | Bonus stat: energy recharge Skill: increases elemental burst damage by 16% and elemental burst crit rate by 6% |

What are the best Kachina artifacts?
We recommend giving Kachina a full set of Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City. This new artifact set is made specifically for Natlan characters as it interacts with Nightsoul and the Nightsoul’s Blessing state. Compared to Obsidian Codex, Cinder City is the more support-focused set of the two and its elemental reaction-based buffs work perfectly with Kachina’s crystallize reactions.
If you prefer a more traditional geo build or you’re running a mono or duo geo team rather than a rainbow team, we recommend a full set of Husk of Opulent Dreams. This boosts Kachina’s defense and provides a geo damage bonus. As always with defense-based characters, Defender’s Will is a great budget or early-game option.
Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City | Two equipped: when a nearby party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst, Kachina regenerates six elemental energy Four equipped: after Kachina triggers a reaction related to her elemental type, all nearby party members gain a 12% elemental damage bonus for the elemental types involved in the elemental reaction for 15 seconds. If Kachina is in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state when triggering this effect, all nearby party members gain an additional 28% elemental damage bonus for the elemental types involved in the elemental reaction for 20 seconds. kachina can trigger this effect while off-field, and the damage bonus from artifact sets with the same name do not stack |
Sanctum of Rainbow Spirits domain in Toyac Springs, Natlan |
Husk of Opulent Dreams | Two equipped: defense +30% Four equipped: Kachina will obtain the Curiosity effect in the following conditions: When on the field, Kachina gains one stack after hitting an opponent with a geo attack, triggering a maximum of once every 0.3 seconds. When off the field, Kachina gains one stack every three seconds. Curiosity can stack up to four times, each providing 6% defense and a 6% geo damage bonus. When six seconds pass without gaining a Curiosity stack, one stack is lost |
Slumbering Court domain on Seirai Island, Inazuma |
Defender’s Will | Two equipped: defense +30% Four equipped: For each different element present in your own party, Kachina’s elemental resistance to that corresponding element is increased by 30% |

What are the best Kachina team comps?
Since Kachina’s Mountain Echoes skill gives her a buff when another team member triggers a Nightsoul Burst, she pairs well with other Natlan characters like Genshin Impact’s Mualani. Mualani also benefits from Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City’s buffs, as it’s generally hard to buff HP-based DPS units.
Her team-wide artifact buff and her off-field geo damage also make her a great fit for double geo or mono-geo teams alongside the likes of Genshin Impact’s Itto and Genshin Impact’s Albedo.
Here are some examples of strong Kachina team comps:
What are Kachina’s abilities?
Active skills:
Normal attack | Cragbiter Normal: Kachina performs up to four consecutive strikes with her spear Charged: lunge forward and deal damage to opponents along the way Plunging: plunge from mid-air to strike the ground below and deal AoE damage |
Elemental skill | Go, Go Turbo Twirly! Kachina summons Turbo Twirly. When you hold and release the elemental skill button, Kachina summons and rides Turbo Twirly. Afterwards, she gains 60 Nightsoul points and enters the Nightsoul’s Blessing state. Nightsoul’s Blessing: Kachina: Turbo Twirly’s actions consume Kachina’s Nightsoul points. Nightsoul’s Blessing ends when these points run out. Turbo Twirly: Turbo Twirly can exist independently or Kachina can ride and operate it. When Turbo Twirly is present, Kachina’s elemental skill becomes a mount/dismount option. When Turbo Twirly is independent of Kachina, it slams into the ground, dealing Nightsoul-aligned AoE geo damage based on Kachina’s defense. When Kachina is riding Turbo Twirly, she can control it to move and climb swiftly, using normal attacks to slam into the ground and deal Nightsoul-aligned AoE geo damage that scales with her defense. Turbo Twirly disappears when Kachina’s Nightsoul’s Blessing state ends and it is considered a geo construct. Only one Turbo Twirly can exist on the field at any given time |
Elemental burst | Time to Get Serious! Kachina strikes the ground, dealing AoE geo damage based on her defense and creating a Turbo Drill Field. The field increases Turbo Twirly’s attack’s AoE and its movement speed when Kachina is riding it. This also summons Turbo Twirly to her side |
Passive skills:
Mountain Echoes | After nearby party members trigger a Nightsoul Burst, Kachina’s geo damage bonus increases by 20% for 12 seconds |
The Weight of Stone | Turbo Twirly’s damage increases by 20% of Kachina’s defense |
Night Realm’s Gift: Heart of Unity | After her Nightsoul points are depleted, Kachina switches to consuming Phlogiston to maintain her Nightsoul’s Blessing. While in an area with phlogiston mechanics in Natlan, she can use Nightsoul Transmission: Kachina. When the active character is sprinting, climbing, moving thanks to a talent, or if they’re at a certain height in the air, the following triggers when switching to Kachina: Kachina enters the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, rides Turbo Twirly, and gains 30 Nightsoul points. Nightsoul Transmission can trigger once every ten seconds with your own team. Additionally, while in Natlan, Kachina consumes 90% less stamina while climbing using Turbo Twirly |
Boon of Crystal Flame | While in an area with phlogiston mechanics in Natlan, Kachina restores 20 stamina when interacting with some harvestable items. Additionally, the location of Natlan-specific resources appears on your mini-map |
What are Kachina’s constellations?
With a guaranteed free Kachina from the Natlan story quest, you’re bound to end up with more than one copy of her. That’s where her constellations come in.
C1 | Shards Are Gems Too When Kachina mounts or dismounts Turbo Twirly, she absorbs nearby crystallize elemental shards. Additionally, when a party member picks up a shard, Kachina restores three energy. This can happen once every five seconds |
C2 | Never Leave Home Without… Turbo Twirly When Kachina uses her elemental burst, she regains 20 Nightsoul points. If she has no Turbo Twirly on the field, she summons one and enters the Nightsoul’s Blessing state |
C3 | Improved Stabilizer Increases Kachina’s elemental skill level by three, up to a max level of 15 |
C4 | More Foes, More Caution When there are one/two/three/four (or more) opponents within Kachina’s elemental burst’s Turbo Drill Field, the active character in the field gains 8%/12%/16%/20% increased defense |
C5 | All I’ve Collected Till Now Increases Kachina’s elemental burst level by three, up to a max level of 15 |
C6 | This Time, I’ve Gotta Win When your active character’s shield is destroyed or replaced for any reason, Kachina deals 200% of her defense as AoE geo damage. This can trigger once every five seconds |
