Genshin Impact’s Mavuika will soon take her place among the Seven and we’re all very excited to meet her in her playable form, and here’s what we know so far after finally getting further into Natlan. The lore and story were under wraps for so long – we never even met a Natlan NPC in all the events we’ve done.
Could Mavuika be another off-field pyro character, at long last? Either way, we’re saving up for her already using the new Genshin Impact codes. Don’t forget to get right into the new content in the Genshin Impact update as there’s tons of good stuff going on.
Genshin Impact Mavuika release date
We know that Mavuika releases in version 5.3, starting early in January, 2025.
Usually, the archon of a region releases in the first couple of patches of each version – Zhongli, Genshin Impact’s Venti, and Genshin Impact’s Raiden Shogun released in 1.0, 1.1, and 2.1 respectively, with Genshin Impact’s Nahida and Genshin Impact’s Furina in 3.2 and 4.2. Due to Natlan’s story unfolding, Mavuika releases a little later.
What do we know about Mavuika’s build and skills?
As for what to expect from Mavuika in-game, we see her using a big claymore, and she’ll – obviously – use the pyro element. It’s not clear what role she’ll fill (unless you look at leaks!). She will release with a signature five-star weapon that’ll fit her kit.
Her drip marketing shows her riding a giant motorbike, so this is likely her movement mode in Natlan – similar to Chasca’s gun and Mualani’s surfboard. Chances are, it plays into her kit too as part of her elemental burst and skill.
She’d make a devastatingly good DPS, we’re sure of that, but with Genshin Impact’s Diluc, Genshin Impact’s Gaming, and Genshin Impact’s Dehya already available, we don’t really need another pyro-claymore-DPS.
In terms of what to equip Mavuika with, a set of Obsidian Codex artifacts will likely work wonders for her nightsoul state, or you could go with a classic Crimson Witch of Flames set purely for fire damage.
Who is Mavuika?
Mavuika is a tall, female character wearing a shiny black suit and sunglasses. She has flowing red hair (what a gal) that glows when she gets into combat and looks sure to pack a fiery punch in our teams and in the story.
Previously seen mention of Murata, Lady of Fire in the Genshin manga. Some expected her to be the playable archon, but it seems she’s from a bygone era. It was also expected that the pyro archon would be a Murata Himeko expy from Honkai Impact 3rd, no matter the name. Mavuika does look similar to Murata Himeko’s Vermilion Knight: Eclipse battlesuit, though, so maybe the expy theory holds up.
