Finally, we’re getting into Natlan’s lore and story after the area has been under wraps for so long. Seriously, we’ve never even met a Natlan NPC in all the events we’ve done. Genshin Impact’s Mavuika will soon take her place among the Seven and we’re all very excited to meet her.
If you weren’t sure before, now it’s properly confirmed – Mavuika is the current pyro archon of Natlan, and is already in a lovely piece of artwork with Genshin Impact’s Zhongli and the other archons, in time for the game’s anniversary.
Mavuika is a tall, female character wearing a shiny black suit and sunglasses. She has flowing red hair (what a gal) that glows when she gets into combat and looks sure to pack a fiery punch in our teams and in the story.
Now, we’ve previously seen mention of Murata, Lady of Fire in the Genshin manga. Some expected her to be the playable archon, but it seems she’s from a bygone era. It was also expected that the pyro archon would be a Murata Himeko expy from Honkai Impact 3rd, no matter the name. Mavuika does look similar to Murata Himeko’s Vermilion Knight: Eclipse battlesuit, though, so maybe the expy theory holds up.
Genshin Impact Mavuika release date speculation
Usually, the archon of a region releases in the first couple of patches of each version – Zhongli, Genshin Impact’s Venti, and Genshin Impact’s Raiden Shogun released in 1.0, 1.1, and 2.1 respectively, with Genshin Impact’s Nahida and Genshin Impact’s Furina in 3.2 and 4.2.
Mavuika may not release in 5.2, however, as during the livestream Hoyoverse noted that 5.0, .1, and .3 would be the archon quest patches – not 5.2. We could see her release in between, but it’s likely that she’ll be released in 5.3. Each archon tends to get a rerun within four or five patches of their release, so hopefully, this stays true for Mavuika, too.
As for what to expect from Mavuika in-game, we see her using a big claymore, and she’ll – obviously – use the pyro element. We’re not sure what role she’ll fill. She’d make a devastatingly good DPS, we’re sure of that, but with Genshin Impact’s Diluc, Genshin Impact’s Gaming, and Genshin Impact’s Dehya already available, we don’t really need another pyro-claymore-DPS.
Could Mavuika be another off-field pyro character, at long last? Either way, I’m saving up for her already using the new Genshin Impact codes. Don’t forget to get right into the new content in the Genshin Impact update as there’s tons of good stuff going on.
