Here's everything you need to know about the Grow a Garden Chubby Chipmunk event:
What is Grow a Garden Chubby Chipmunk?
Chubby Chipmunk is an event that ran from Saturday, October 4, until Saturday, October 11, 2025. During the event, you had to claim the free chubby chipmunk pet from the event island and place it in your garden, allowing it to eat piles of tasty fruits to fatten it up as much as possible.
How do I increase my Grow a Garden chubby chipmunk's weight?
When you place the chubby chipmunk pet in your garden, it'll occasionally eat a random fruit and gain weight. When it does this, the chubby chipmunk spawns an acorn in a random spot on the map. If you find and collect the acorn, you get a random reward.
You can also increase your chubby chipmunk's weight by aging it. Like other pets, as long as its hunger meter isn't empty, your chubby chipmunk will age over time. Alternatively, you can increase its age using different gear and items, such as the levelup lollipop.
During the event, every time your chubby chipmunk reached a new weight milestone, you could claim the next reward from the event island.

How do I trigger Grow a Garden nutty fever?
During the event, you could submit fruits to 'Nuts' on the event island. When you submitted enough fruits to reach 500 points, you would trigger the nutty fever weather event for five minutes. Submitting fruits with different Grow a Garden mutations could give you additional points, allowing you to trigger nutty fever even quicker.
Nutty fever is a weather event that reduced the chubby chipmunk's skill cooldown to only 30 seconds, allowing it to eat and gain weight quicker.

What is the Grow a Garden chinchilla?
The chinchilla is a divine pet that you can get from the nutty chest. The nutty chest was a reward during the Chubby Chipmunk event, but you still have a chance to get one by collecting the chubby chipmunk pet's acorns. However, it only has a 1% drop rate, so you have to be really lucky to get one!
Here's the Grow a Garden chinchilla's ability:
- Every 40 minutes, it goes to another pet, rolls around in dust, and makes that pet perform its ability 3.03 times in a row
The chinchilla is a very handy pet if you already have multiple strong pets in your garden, as the value of its ability relies on how good your other pets' abilities are. For example, if you have pets from the S-rank tier in our Grow a Garden tier list, like the cockatrice, the chinchilla could make it apply even more mutations and boost your pets' exp and eggs' hatch time much more frequently.
However, if you've only got D-rank pets like the bunny or lab, the chinchilla increasing the number of times they perform their skills won't do much for you.
What is the Grow a Garden energy chew?
The energy chew is a prismatic gear item that you can use to refresh a pet's ability cooldown. It takes the form of a cyan energy bolt, and you could get it as a reward during the Chubby Chipmunk event by getting your chubby chipmunk pet's weight to 2.15kg, 13.65kg, and 36.48kg. To use an energy chew, you simply need to hold it and click on the pet you want to use it on.
What is the Grow a Garden nutty shard?
The nutty shard is a gear item that you can use to apply the nutty mutation to a pet. There's a 0.24% chance that you can obtain the nutty shard when you collect an acorn from the chubby chipmunk pet's ability.
Here's the Grow a Garden nutty shard mutation's ability:
- Every 19 minutes and 42 seconds, the next pet's ability use has a 20% chance to activate twice. Otherwise, this pet loses a level!
Applying this mutation can be pretty risky if you're trying to age-up a pet quickly, as it has an 80% chance to deduct one year (one level) every 20 minutes or so. But, if you don't mind that and pair a nutty pet with other powerful pets, it may be worthwhile for you.
That's everything we've got in our Grow a Garden Chubby Chipmunk event guide. While you're here, be sure to check our handy Grow a Garden value list to work out which crops are worthy of a spot in your garden.
