What is the Grow a Garden Halloween event?
The Grow a Garden Halloween event, otherwise known as Ghoul Garden, is a limited-time event that runs from Saturday, October 11, until Saturday, October 25, 2025. Arriving alongside the 1.27.0 Grow a Garden update, it introduces three Halloween-themed event islands - the witch's brew island, the Jack-o-lantern, and the Halloween market - all of which we dive into in this guide.
The mechanics of the Halloween event primarily revolve around submitting crops in exchange for the candy corn event currency, which you can then spend at the Halloween market to purchase a bunch of frightfully festive goodies, including Halloween-themed seeds, pets, gears, and cosmetic items.
How do I get Grow a Garden candy corn?
You can get the Grow a Garden candy corn event currency by submitting crops to the witch's brew or the Jack-o-lantern. The amount of candy corn you get depends on how many crops you submit to the witch's brew or the rarity of the crop you submit to the Jack-o-lantern. We dive into how to submit to both of these and how many candy corn you can earn below.

What is the Grow a Garden witch's brew?
The witch's brew is an event mechanic where you must submit crops to the witch in order to fill up her cauldron. After the cauldron is filled, it enters a two-minute cooldown before you can submit any more crops.
All players on the server can contribute to the cauldron in order to speed up the process of filling it, and there's a leaderboard next to the witch where you can see how much each player has contributed.
All contributors will gain rewards once the cauldron is full. The top contributor gains additional rewards.
Here are all of the witch's brew contributor rewards:
- Ten-20 candy corn (100% chance)
- One spooky egg (10% chance)
- One pumpkin crate (10% chance)
Here are all of the witch's brew top contributor rewards:
- Ten-20 candy corn (100% chance)
- Two spooky eggs (20% chance)
- Two pumpkin crates (20% chance)

What is the Grow a Garden Jack-o-lantern?
The Jack-o-lantern is an NPC that appears next to the witch's brew event island for ten minutes once every two hours. You can submit Halloween-type plants or plants with Halloween mutations to the Jack-o-lantern in exchange for rewards.
Here are all of the Grow a Garden Jack-o-lantern rewards:
- Candy corn (100% chance)
- Two spooky eggs (5% chance)
- Two pumpkin crates (5% chance)
The amount of candy corn you get depends on the rarity of the plant you submit, as follows:
- Common - one candy corn
- Uncommon - two candy corn
- Rare - three candy corn
- Legendary - four candy corn
- Mythical - five candy corn
- Divine - six candy corn
- Prismatic - seven candy corn
- Transcendent - eight candy corn
Additionally, if you submit plants with the following mutations, you get additional candy corn:
- Silver - one additional candy corn
- Gold - two additional candy corn
- Rainbow - three additional candy corn
There's also a Jack-o-lantern seed and crop that's completely separate from the event NPC.

Like other eggs, you need to place the spooky egg in your garden and wait for it to hatch. It has a hatch time of four hours and ten minutes. When it's ready, you can hatch it to claim one of five random pets.
Here are all of the pets in the Grow a Garden spooky egg:
| Pet | Rarity | Chance |
| Bat | Ucommon | 45% |
| Bone dog | Rare | 28% |
| Spider | Legendary | 18% |

| Headless horseman | Prismatic | 0.5% |
What is the Grow a Garden headless horseman?
The headless horseman is a prismatic pet that you can get from the spooky egg, with a 0.5% drop rate. It's the third prismatic pet to arrive in the game, following the kitsune and the corrupted kitsune from the Grow a Garden Zen event.
Here's the Grow a Garden headless horseman's ability:
- Every 20-40 minutes, haunts a random level 25-50 pet without a mutation, resetting it to level one and bestowing it with the dreadbound, soulflame, spectral, or nightmare mutation
Here are the mutations that the headless horseman can apply to your pets:
- Dreadbound - the pet gains an additional six-30 XP per second
- Soulflame - the pet gains an additional 60% boost to its XP per second. The pet also has a chance to apply the burnt or flaming mutation to a nearby fruit once every five-15 minutes
- Spectral - provides a 1.08x increase to the pet's passive
- Nightmare - provides a 1.22x increase to the pet's passive, and increases its size by 125%
The headless horseman is the first pet capable of applying mutations to other pets rather than crops, making it incredibly valuable.
