When was Honkai Star Rail Castorice's release date?
Hoyoverse released Castorice on April 9, 2025, in the first half of the version 3.2 update. She ran alongside reruns of Honkai Star Rail's Acheron, Honkai Star Rail's Jiaoqiu, and Honkai Star Rail's Fugue.
Who is Castorice?
Castorice is a five-star quantum character who walks the path of Remembrance. Remembrance characters summon useful memosprites to the battlefield to help out, like Honkai Star Rail's Aglaea.
Castorice is one of the Chrysos Heirs, hailing originally from Aidonia, where she was revered as a death goddess. She aims to take the Death coreflame from the Titan Thanatos, as well as something else from her past that she claims they have.
Castorice's shy and reserved nature partially stems from her Chrysos Heirs curse - the Touch of Death. Any living thing that she touches withers and dies, so she has to remain constantly aware of her surroundings.
Thanks to her ridiculously strong passive skill that lets your party members evade death even when she's not on the team, Castorice is an incredibly valuable character to have. Her and her memosprite's skills interact with your team's HP, so you'll likely need a sustain character in your party to keep everyone healthy. Castorice's kit also makes her a hyper-strong DPS, able to carry most teams with the right build, but you can run her alongside Honkai Star Rail's Mydei for some double DPS action.
