Do you hate bulky phones? If so, Infinix is cooking up a new model that might pique your interest. The unnamed device will reportedly be less than 6mm thick, making it one of the slimmest slab phones ever made.
The news comes after Passionategeekz released some exclusive hands-on images showing the yet-to-be-announced phone’s rear and side profile, while also comparing it to an iPhone. The latter, in particular, really shows off how astonishingly slim this phone is.
Lately, we’ve seen smartphone manufacturers racing to make some of the best foldable phones thinner, but that hasn’t been the case with traditional form factors. It makes sense, as foldables were originally very bulky and cumbersome things, but we’re now at the point where devices like the Honor Magic V3 are hard to tell apart from bar-style phones.
If anything, regular handsets are slowly getting chunkier as better cooling solutions and larger camera sensors are introduced. Infinix is going against the grain, betting that at least some consumers will prefer a device that creates less of a bulge in their pocket.
The pictured phone has a design that’s very similar to the Infinix Hot 50, a model introduced in India recently. It’s a budget handset powered by the Dimensity 6300, with an LCD display and a respectable 5,000 mAh battery. So whatever this phone turns out to be, it’s not likely to make it onto our list of the best gaming phones.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for more news, but in the meantime, check out what we thought in our Infinix’s Zero 30 5G review, a phone that’s already less than 8mm thick. If you need more horsepower, then read our Infinix GT 20 Pro review, instead.
