iPhone 16 leak reveals fan-favorite color is missing

iPhone 16 image leak confirms a new set of colors for the latest iteration of Apple’s flagship device, as well as a camera redesign.

A selection of iPhone 16 dummy models has recently been leaked in a tantalizing sneak peek into what we can expect from the upcoming launch. The latest leak comes just weeks before the expected September release date, showing us the potential new colorways and some interesting rear camera changes.

The new iPhone 16 colors appear to include a brighter palette than the iPhone 15's, which was relatively muted. This is good news for those who like a pop of color, as you won't have to rely on one of the best iPhone cases. However, the flip side of this is that the iPhone 16 reportedly will no longer feature the cheerful yellow colorway that has been present for the previous two generations.

Instead, the iPhone 16 will come in the standard black, as well as a stark white, pale pink, bright blue, and calming green. Comparatively, the iPhone 15 had quite a beige, stony color palette, so it's definitely a change of aesthetic. But that's not all, because the dummy models featured in the leaked image also show a brand new rear camera design.

The base and iPhone 16 Pro models will reportedly feature changes to the camera layout on the back of the device, steering away from the original diagonal lens orientation in favor of a cleaner, vertical design. This change to the back cameras is rumored to be due to Apple allowing for Spatial Video for the Vision Pro headset with the iPhone 16, which is something only the iPhone 15 Pro models are currently capable of providing.

Both the iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Plus are expected to include a powerful A18 processing chip and a healthy 8GB of RAM, which should see them both earn a spot on our best gaming iPhones guide soon after launch. While these changes certainly sound exciting, it's wise to take them with a pinch of salt until Apple officially announces the iPhone 16.
