This iPhone 16 price leak is good news for (almost) everyone

Planning on purchasing one of the upcoming iPhone 16 models? You’ll be happy to know that all except one will retain the previous generation’s pricing.

A new iPhone 16 leak has indicated that all but one of the four upcoming models will retain the same pricing as the iPhone 15 series. However, the iPhone 16 Pro will receive a price hike to reportedly compensate for its added features.

Regular tipster Apple Hub recently leaked the prices and technical specs for the iPhone 16 series. All models are projected to remain the same price as the previous generation, except the iPhone 16 Pro. This model will increase by $100 from $999 to $1,099. While this is a 10% price hike, it’s a reflection on the improved specs and features that the 16 Pro will offer, including a telephoto lens and a new starting storage option of 256GB. These additions will help the iPhone 16 Pro remain competitive against the best Android phones, as many of them already offer excellent telephoto options.

The iPhone 16 is currently rumored to launch at $799, the Plus at $899, and the Pro Max at $1,199. Apple Hub’s specs are also in line with our previously-reported iPhone 16 Pro dimensions leak, with the Pro and Pro Max jumping to a 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch display, respectively, while also upgrading to WiFi 7. These changes could make the iPhone 16 Pro the best gaming iPhone yet, with plenty of screen space, tons of storage, and a zippy connection.

Unsurprisingly, all four models are rumored to be Apple Intelligence-compatible, as they each run the A18 chipset or a modified Pro version. Given how hard Apple is pushing AI to keep up with the Galaxy AI found in some of the best Samsung phones, it would be strange if the new flagships didn’t include the feature. However, it’s worth noting that Apple has delayed the launch of its AI features, so don’t expect to be able to try them if you pick up an iPhone 16 on launch.

Either way, we can’t wait to see what Apple actually has in store for us when the iPhone 16 officially launches.
