We’re mere days away from the launch of the iPhone 16 series, but it’s not too late for some fresh rumors. The latest leak suggests that the iPhone 16 Pro could come with a whopping 2TB of storage. The eagle-eyed among you may notice that this would be double the maximum storage capacity of previous iPhones, which could make this a brilliant option for gamers, photographers, and content creators – or, indeed, anyone who would require lots of storage. However, this storage increase could also mean a rise in price.
A report from January 2024 on the Naver blog states that the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max may have 2TB of storage thanks to Apple reportedly adopting Quad-Level Cell flash memory. Having this extra storage could make the 16 one of the best gaming iPhone options out there.
Current iPhone models use Triple-Level Cell technology, so the Quad would be an upgrade. It would mean double the amount of storage in a smaller space inside new devices such as the iPhone 16. It’s not long to wait until the iPhone 16 launch on September 9, where you’ll find out whether the new iPhone 16 Pro max gold colorway and iPhone 16 capture button are features coming with the next generation of devices.
While our interest is certainly piqued by the idea of an iPhone 16 model with bumper storage, we won’t know how much truth there is to this rumor until the official launch. After all, there were similar rumors regarding the iPhone 14 that didn’t pan out to be true. However, it’s worth pointing out that the iPhone 15 did introduce the 256GB storage capacity upgrade – which subsequently increased the cost of the phone.
