It goes without saying that you want access to the Mario Kart World Rainbow Road track; it's an MK staple at this point, with everyone wanting to experience the iconic course whenever they can. Rainbow Road is both stunning and brutal, so let's look at how you unlock it in the Nintendo Switch 2 game.

We've got plenty more help to offer for this game, too. Just check out our list of the best Mario Kart World karts, and you'll soon have all of your friends eating your dust. Of course, you might also want to consider what Mario Kart World tracks you're about to speed around, along with which Mario Kart World characters you should use - I'm a fan of Monty Mole and King Boo myself.

How do I unlock Mario Kart World Rainbow Road?

In order to unlock the Mario Kart World Rainbow Road track, you need to complete all seven of the Grand Prix Cups; these are the Mushroom Cup, Leaf Cup, Shell Cup, Lightning Cup, Star Cup, Flower Cup, and Banana Cup. There's no order you need to follow, and you can complete the cups on whatever difficulty you prefer; once you do that, you get a secret eighth Grand Prix, culminating in a race along Rainbow Road.

While you might think you need to win all of those cups to unlock one of the most beloved Mario Kart tracks, you merely need to complete them. Difficulty and the place in which you finish don't come into it, which may be a huge relief for some of you. However, I must admit that winning the cups and going for a higher difficulty level might better prepare you for the chaos that is Mario Kart World Rainbow Road.
