If you’re anything like us, you probably spent this past weekend playing Pokémon Legends: Arceus, catching all manner of creatures, some big, some small, and others that are so menacing you have little choice but to run. You may also spot familiar Pokémon sporting a different look in the Hisui region, one of which is Voltorb, and it might please you to know that this version of the electric-type is already in Pokémon Go.
That’s right, the Pokémon Go Hisuian Voltorb are here, and it’s up to you to aid Professor Willow in discovering the differences between this version, and the Voltorb that originates from the Kanto region. For the remaining duration of the Pokémon Go Power plant event, the Hisui native is appearing in the wild, and will continue to do so well into the Pokémon Go Lunar New Year event.
Naturally, there are some special research tasks for you to complete, all of which lead you closer to uncovering the truth about Hisuian Voltorb, including its type, and prepare yourself, as the truth of this, might shock you. Much like the Voltorb we all know from Kanto, this version of the creature shares a striking resemblance to the poké balls from their region.
Furthermore, the Season of Heritage story continues, with Team Rocket Go now having what was lurking behind the mysterious door. It’s up to you to discover the remaining secrets, and perhaps the help of a certain poké ball imposter will help.
