Meet Iono, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s electric-type gym leader

A look at the upcoming games gives us a taste of life in Paldea, including picnics, TMs, and much more in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet trailer

We’re officially one month away from a new Pokémon generation, and Nintendo and Game Freak are still keeping their cards very close to their chests. However, today Pokémon Scarlet and Violet fans were treated to a fresh trailer, this time introducing the electric-type gym leader Iono. This trailer replicated something akin to a Twitch stream, as Iono is an energetic young character who professes to be a famous streamer.

Not much information was revealed today, but Iono is asking fans to guess her partner Pokemon, with a series of cryptic clues. So, we expect to see a new Pokemon revealed sooner rather than later. Meanwhile, last week’s Pokémon Scarlet and Violet trailer shows us a positively delicious new feature, namely the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet picnics mechanic, which seems to be replacing Pokémon Sword and Shield’s campsites.

The last trailer also shows that TMs are back to single use, but you can now craft them at every Poké mart in Paldea, with parts found from scavenging around the region. This sounds like it will go well with the new let’s go feature, allowing our Pokémon to go off and explore on their own and bring back essential items. Finally, we even got a new creature in the form of Farirgiraf, an evolution to Girafarig. Read all about it in our Pokémon Scarlet and Violet new Pokémon guide. We hope to see even more new ‘mon in tomorrow’s trailer.

Is there a new Pokémon Scarlet and Violet trailer?

Yes, a Pokémon Scarlet and Violet trailer unveiled the picnic mechanic, included in a fifteen-minute overview of several new features for the latest games, including craftable TMs, washing our Pokémon, making sandwiches, and a brief look at how the let’s go feature works. You can watch the full trailer below.
