What are Prospecting enchants?

Prospecting enchants are special boosts for your pan that improve your chances of finding rarer materials. Enchants can boost your luck, increase your pan's capacity, earn you more money, and more.

Enchanting your pan in Prospecting is similar to enchanting other gear in games like Minecraft, except your pan can only have one enchantment at a time. Plus, getting the right modifier for the situation is partially luck-based, so we recommend having a few enchanted pans on hand at any given time.

What do I need to enchant my pan in Prospecting?

All you need to enchant your pan in Prospecting is a piece of either Aurorite or Aetherite, and your desired pan. You can enchant any pan, but it can only hold one enchantment at a time.

You can use either Aurorite or Aetherite to enchant your pans, but they each have their perks. Aurorite is more common as it's an Epic mineral, so you might have an easier time finding it, but Aetherite can unlock exclusive enchantments and raise your chances of scoring a rare one.

How do I enchant my pan in Prospecting?

To enchant your pan in Prospecting, you need to go to the Mysterious Altar in Rubble Creek with a pan and a piece of Aurorite or Aetherite. If this is your first time interacting with the Mysterious Altar, make sure to speak to the Alchemist NPC beforehand to trigger the associated quest. He'll help you enchant your first pan, and you'll also earn some XP, money, and shards along the way.

Finding the Mysterious Altar is easy. When you spawn in Rubble Creek, simply head across the river and then bear right. You should see an altar on a circular clearing surrounded by four stone pillars covered in runic carvings.

Once you're there, simply interact with the Mysterious Altar and you'll trigger an enchantment. Make sure you have the right pan equipped first!

Where can I find Aurorite and Aetherite?

You can find both Aurorite and Aetherite all over the Prospecting map, but the former is much easier to stumble upon. We've put the location with the highest odds at the top of each list:

How do I get the Prospecting prismatic enchant?

The prismatic enchant in Prospecting is a Traveling Merchant-exclusive enchant. You must purchase the Prismatic Enchant Book for $20 billion or 5k shards to get this enchant, which is a steep price to pay, but the reward is definitely worth it. There are currently 17 Prospecting pan enchants and seven shovel in the game, each with a different modifier and rarity. Note that some of these enchants are Aetherite-exclusive, and you won't roll an enchant with a rarity higher than 5% using Aetherite.
