Stardew Valley Pierre guide

Stardew Valley’s Pierre might run the local grocery shop but he still has time to socialize, so let’s learn about his favorite gifts.

Stardew Valley's Pierre is the owner of the local general store, which is where you'll get a lot of your supplies, so it doesn't hurt to make nice with Pierre; he's going to be taking a lot of your money, after all. To build a solid foundation, we're here to tell you what his favorite gifts and movies are, take a look at his quests, and how not to blow up your friendship during one of his heart events.

The Stardew Valley characters that Pierre is closest to are Stardew Valley's Caroline and Stardew Valley's Abigail, his wife and daughter, respectively. However, he does have a rivalry with Morris, the manager of JojaMart, who Pierre believes has the capacity to run him out of business. Depending on your choices, you can make sure that doesn't happen, as completing the Community Center somehow bankrupts JojaMart and sends Morris out of town.

Here's what you need to know about Stardew Valley's Pierre:

What are the best Stardew Valley Pierre gifts?

Look, everybody wants something. Even if you own a store like Pierre, you'd think the man would still have plenty of things he'd love to get as a present. Well, that isn't the case, but if you give the man a price catalogue that's good enough for him. I'm not judging; I'm just thankful there's at least something he appreciates enough to give you some friendship points. Thankfully, not all villagers are like this. Stardew Valley's Maru is great to shop for.

What are Stardew Valley Pierre's heart events?

There are three heart events for Pierre, and the final one is a real doozy, as it appears as though the general store owner is keeping a pretty big secret from his wife. It's a big moment for your friendship; it can even ruin what relationship you have - at least he's already given you the blueberry tart recipe by this point.

Event How to trigger
Anytime Pierre might send you some gold as part of his 'Cash Back Rewards Program' - the likelihood of receiving this increases as you strengthen your friendship
Three hearts Pierre sends you the recipe for the blueberry tart
Six hearts Go to Pierre's General Store, a cutscene triggers showing you snooping in his bedroom, and you stumble upon his secret stash. Pierre catches you and asks that you keep this a secret. You have two options:
-Tell him his secret is safe with you
-Claim his wife deserves to know about this
Keeping it secret nets you an extra 70 friendship points, while claiming Caroline should know costs you 500 friendship points

What are Stardew Valley Pierre's quests?

Like other Pelican Town residents, Stardew Valley's Pierre has a couple of quests you can embark on in exchange for some extra gold, though one also improves your friendship, so that's something to bear in mind if you actually want to be friends with him. At the very least, I encourage you to take his gold, lord knows he takes enough of yours.

Quest How to complete Reward
Pierre's Notice After Pierre sends you a letter on the 21st of Spring in the second year, you need to bring him sashimi You get 1k gold and one friendship heart
Help Wanted board Sometimes, Pierre requests an item through his Help Wanted board next to the shop; you need to bring him the item You get three times the value of the item in gold and an additional 150 friendship points with Pierre
Pierre's Prime Produce You might find a request from Pierre for 25 gold-quality vegetables on the special orders board in front of the mayor's manor; get him those top-quality veggies You get 2.5k gold and a mini shipping bin

What are Pierre's favorite movies and concessions?

Just like Stardew Valley's Leo, Pierre is a pretty big fan of going to the movies, so much so that the man at least likes every movie and dislikes very few snacks. He's so much easier to get along with here than Stardew Valley's Krobus. That monster likes one movie, hates the rest, and is picky when it comes to concessions. Pierre, I appreciate you liking everything.

Movie Concession
Love Wumbus Personal pizza, stardrop sorbet
Dislike N/A Joja cola, black licorice, jojacorn
Like The Zuzu City Express, Mysterium, The Brave Little Sapling, It Howls In The Rain, The Miracle At Coldstar Ranch, Journey Of The Prairie King: The Motion Picture, Natural Wonders: Exploring Our Vibrant World Everything else

Can you marry Stardew Valley's Pierre?

You can't marry Pierre, and I honestly think that's best for everyone; he's one of the most disliked people in Pelican Town, and it's not exactly hard to see why. Plus, just look at that heart event, he's keeping a monumental secret from his wife, something so huge that it essentially blows up your friendship if you tell her.

But honestly, you should do the right thing and let her know; you don't need Pierre, though things might be awkward if you fall in love with Abigail. That's his daughter. Luckily, she's a much nicer person than her father. If you do settle down with Abigail and marry her, at least you can show your father-in-law how you should really treat your spouse.

With that, you know all of the important things about Stardew Valley's Pierre. If being his pal and involving yourself in his family doesn't sound like the right move for you, there are plenty of other villagers with whom to become friends. See where things go with the likes of Stardew Valley's Shane and Stardew Valley's Haley; they both happen to be single if you're after marriage.
