We've once again reached the most wonderful time of the year. No, I'm not talking about the holidays - it's The Game Awards 2025. It feels like only yesterday that Astro Bot snapped up the prestigious Game of the Year accolade at 2024's show, but somehow we've already arrived at TGA 2025, and there's a lot to celebrate after a great 12 months of gaming.

This year finally saw the long-awaited release of the Nintendo Switch 2, and two of its most beloved exclusives have already managed to snap up some highly sought-after awards, with Donkey Kong Bananza swiping the title of Best Family Game, and Mario Kart World zooming ahead of the competition in the Best Sports/Racing Game category. Some of the best mobile games of the last year also managed to secure nominations, with Kuro Games beating out heaps of fantastic games across all platforms as Wuthering Waves claimed the Player's Voice Award.

Of course, while it's nice to celebrate the best titles in 2025, we're also eager to see what new Switch games, Steam Deck games, and mobile games are heading our way in 2026 and beyond, and TGA certainly delivers on this front, too. From an exciting reveal for Resi fans to a new glimpse at the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, this was certainly a high note to end the year on.

Where can I watch The Game Awards 2025?

You can watch The Game Awards on its official YouTube channel, or simply click on the video below. The show aired on Thursday, December 11, at 19:30 ET / 16:30 PT / 00:30 GMT, and ran for roughly three and a half action-packed hours, wrapping up with the highly-anticipated announcement of the Game of the Year winner. If you were expecting a Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 sweep, you were right on the money.

Pragmata

Capcom revealed that not only is the highly anticipated Pragmata coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on April 24, 2026, alongside its PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam release, but it's also available for pre-orders right now. And, if that's not exciting enough, you can also try out a demo on Steam today, which will also arrive on other platforms (including the Nintendo Switch 2) later!

South of Midnight

During the acceptance speech for the Games for Impact award, Compulsion Games announced that the 2025 action-adventure game South of Midnight will be arriving on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 in spring 2026, following a year of Xbox exclusivity.

Resident Evil Requiem

Okay, okay, so we all know Resident Evil Requiem is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on February 27, 2026 (who could forget it, right?). But, during the event, Capcom finally revealed the secondary protagonist, and it turns out the initial leaks were right. No, it's not Rosemary Winters as a recent slip up led us to believe - it's actually the man, the myth, the legend, Leon Kennedy. And guess what? RE9's Leon looks better and more badass than ever.

If, like me, you're falling to your knees in Target at this news, you'll be glad to know that pre-orders are open now. Wait for me, Leon - we'll be together again soon.

Street Fighter Movie

One of the most iconic game series of all time is coming to the big screen. That's right - Street Fighter is finally getting the fully fledged adaptation it deserves! You can check out an exciting sneak peek above to see some of the epic action shots you can expect from its full release, along with a showcase of some of the fabulous fighters that will be appearing in the ring.

We don't have a release date just yet beyond  Noah Centineo's statement that it will be "like, a year from now", but Callina Liang highlights that they "wrapped a few weeks ago", so you better get your quarters ready.

Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight

Warner Brothers has announced that Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on May 29, 2026, with pre-orders open now - however, the Nintendo Switch 2 launch date is still yet to be announced. Hopefully, we won't have too long to wait!

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis and Tomb Raider: Catalyst

Lara Croft is back, and, as always, she really means business. The Game Awards revealed trailers for not one but two new Tomb Raider games - Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, which arrives in 2026, and Tomb Raider: Catalyst, which is slated for a 2027 release.

While we don't have any news of platforms yet, Tomb Raider's TGA appearance has us desperately holding out hope that both games will arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 and Steam Deck, if not sooner then later. Come on, we need to play this on handhelds ASAP!

Orbitals

A striking space adventure with a nostalgic, retro anime aesthetic, Orbitals is an exciting new co-op game that sees you set out on a mission among the stars. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond released earlier this month, taking the iconic series in a unique direction with an open world, breathtaking yet hostile landscapes, and a super cool bike to explore them with. While we acknowledge its flaws in our Metroid Prime 4: Beyond review, we still commend its ability to "find the balance between classic Samus action" securing it "a rightful place among modern-day shooters".

Now, Samus is getting yet another upgrade, as Nintendo has revealed the Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Nintendo Switch 2 Edition - and, better yet, it's available right now.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin

Okay, so this one's a little anti-climactic, we're not going to lie. We've been waiting a long, long time for the The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin release date now - over three years, in fact. Unfortunately, it looks like we'll have to wait even longer for it to arrive on mobile, PC, and other platforms, as Netmarble has announced that it will launch on January 28, 2026 as a PlayStation 5 exclusive.

The announcement stated that it won't be available on other consoles until at least 12 months after release, but hopefully we'll see it arrive on other platforms after that.

Fortnite x Harry Potter

Following the announcement that Hogwarts Legacy will be available for free on Epic Games store until December 18, 2025, Geoff Keighley revealed that there is even more Harry Potter fun coming later this month, as Fortnite will be getting customizable Hogwarts House outfits. And, if you play Hogwarts Legacy on EGS before December 18, you can also unlock a Harry Potter Chocolate Frog back bling in Fortnite for free.

Phasmophobia

With a couple of hundred hours in the game, I can confidently say that Phasmophobia is one of the best co-op horror games around. With it's unique formula of using tools to identify different ghosts and ghouls, the immersive first-person gameplay, and the madcap multiplayer matches, it has continued to entice screams of horror and hilarity out of gamers across the globe.

And, like the boogeyman creeping out of your closet at night, it's about to creep up on a whole new group of horror fans, as Phasmophobia is officially coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.

Hitman: World of Assassination - Patient Zero Requiem

Originally released nearly half a decade ago on January 20, 2021, Hitman: World of Assassination is the exciting eighth installment in the iconic Hitman video game series. However, despite its age, this beloved entry is still going strong.

A new TGA trailer revealed a fresh expansion to the game in the form of Patient Zero Requiem, which features the blockbuster actress Milla Jovovich. You can hunt down this new Elusive Target for free when the update arrives in-game in February 2026 on all platforms, including Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, the App Store, and Steam Deck.

Out of Words

A charming handcrafted game published by Epic Games, Out of Words revolves around two mouthless stop motion puppets named Naomi and Bag Boy as they embark on an enchanting adventure made for two. This stunning co-op game feels reminiscent of games like It Takes Two and Split Fiction, so be sure to grab your partner or pal and get ready when it arrives on Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC via the Epic Store in 2026.

Duet Night Abyss - Huaxu: The Wind Awakening

Following the success of its November launch, Duet Night Abyss is about to introduce its biggest update yet. This fresh version introduces a brand new area called Huaxu, along with new characters, story content, and more.

The Huaxu: The Wind Awakening expansion is set to drop on December 23, 2025 alongside the game's Steam release - that's just over a week away!

Arknights: Endfield

After years of development, Gryphline has finally confirmed the worldwide Arknights: Endfield release date. This highly anticipated, free-to-play strategy ARPG has certainly kept us waiting, but each time we get a glimpse the hype only grows.

Now, it turns out we don't have long to wait at all, as Arknights: Endfield is set to release on Android, iOS, PC, and PS5 on January 22, 2026.

Mega Man Dual Override

It's been years since the last completely new Mega Man game has graced our consoles, with Mega Man 11 arriving on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC all the way back in 2018. Luckily, we won't have to wait too much longer, as the Blue Bomber is finally back in Mega Man Dual Override.

The announcement trailer showcases our iconic blue buddy blasting his way through a vibrant, side-scrolling world full of precise platforming and hectic hazards, before revealing that the game is slated for a 2027 release. We may only be at the tail-end of 2025, but as Geoff says, 2027 can't come fast enough!

Super Mario Galaxy Movie

Yes, we knew this one was already coming, but we were still super excited to get another glimpse of the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie. The clip shows an interaction between iconic characters Bowser Jr (voiced by the incredible Jack Black, just like his dad), Luigi, and the main man Mario himself, shortly before re-confirming the April, 2026 release date.
