We're getting not just one new Lara Croft game, but two

A Lara Croft announcement may have been leaked, but nobody could have forseen that there were two games on the horizon.

Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider; Legacy of Atlantis trailer

We thought we knew everything Lara Croft that was coming to our screens during The Game Awards 2025, but we were wrong. While it's true that Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will be with us in 2026, we couldn't have predicted the one-two punch that PlayStation, Amazon Games, and Crystal Dynamics had in store for us. There's a second Tomb Raider game coming to us in 2027, Tomb Raider: Catalyst.

Legacy of Atlantis is a remake of the original Tomb Raider games, so you'll explore as Lara through all kinds of locations, from ancient Greece to the plains of Egypt and the jungles of Peru, to uncover Inca history. Meanwhile, in Catalyst, you'll race against time in Northern India to uncover secrets in the wake of a global disaster that, left unchecked, could see power falling into the wrong hands.

Expect puzzles, action, and plenty of enemies to defeat. Both games sound incredible and will seek to capture the hearts and minds of both existing players and potential newcomers, as Crystal Dynamics designed them to help newbies get stuck into the Tomb Raider world.

If you're new to the Tomb Raider world, you can jump into the action without missing too much, but when you'll be able to is still unclear. Outside of the general year announcement, we don't know much about when Lara will be back with us.

There's also no word yet if or when the games will hit portable platforms, but as soon as we have any information on it whatsoever, you can be sure we'll update this page with the latest. In the meantime, check out the Resident Evil Requiem Leon news, and explore your options with the South of Midnight Switch 2 port.
